Chapter 15

Ulrick Nicholas Sacramento POV

The helicopter blades whirred loudly as we flew over the thick forest that covered the island. From up here, the place looked like a hidden paradise—calm, private, and impossible to reach without being noticed. But I knew it wasn’t just any island; this was a heavily guarded fortress disguised as a safe house.

The two mansions came into view, nestled among the trees. One closer to the shore, the other deeper into the forest. Both of them was modern, all sharp lines and clean edges, built from thick glass, brick, and metal. It stood out just enough to look impressive, but still managed to blend with the surrounding greenery. The glass reflected the ocean, making it almost disappear into the background.

We touched down on the landing pad near the first mansion, the one deeper in the woods. As I stepped out, the air was quiet except for the distant waves of the nearby sea. Guards were stationed at key points, hidden but always watching. It was hard to spot them, but I knew they were there.

The first mansion was a fortress—cutting-edge security systems, motion detectors, and biometric locks. I walked through it, checking each safeguard. Everything was in place, functioning just as it should be. This one was set up for immediate response, hidden under layers of technology and surveillance.

The construction just finished a month ago. The Alvarez clan will stay here for the meanwhile. I know someone else should be doing this. It is supposed to be Bentley or anyone else except me. I don't work for the Alvarez anymore. I'm only working and responsible for the Alpha but somehow I still felt responsible. O baka masyado lang talaga akong pabida.

From there, I headed down the stone path toward the second mansion, the one closer to the ocean. Sinalubong ako ni Law at France. They are staying here for months now.

"How are we coping on?" Law asked as he accepted my hand for a handshake. I've meet this men many times now. Nakipagkamay rin ako kay France.

Law is the inheritor of the Cullen, the first division. While France is the guardian and husband of Erica Prior, the inheritor of Corvus, the second division.

"Hardly." tipid na sagot ko at pinagmasdan ang pangalawang mansion.

"How's the Alvarez?" France asked as we walked toward the garden.

Naroon ang mga asawa nila at mga anak. Riley, Law's wife with their son and daughter. Erica with his son. Theron Laurel is here too with his wife, Elle Santillan and their son. He is the inheritor of the third division, the Arch.

"They are fine for now." sagot ko at ngumiti sa mga nag-aantay. We exchanged handshakes too.

"Lilipat na ba sila rito?" Riley asked.

"Deckard want them to move here as soon as possible."

"Looks like we still got a long war ahead." Erica murmured among the crowd. I nodded in agreement.

We talked for a bit before I excused myself. I surveyed the second mansion too. The security is also a top-tier. I'm a little bit relieved that this place might actually be safe.

I made my way to the nearby sea. A set of stairs led me down to the water, the salty breeze filling the air. The sea was crystal clear, shifting between shades of blue and turquoise. The sand is fine and soft. The sea is calm and the waves are gentle as it crashes with each other. The setting is perfect but it can't distract me from the fact that this place is not a haven but a fortress meant to protect the people within its perimeter.

I step into the Alpha's main headquarters. The men greeted me despite the confusion. After a few weeks of resigning, I've never been back. Ngayon lang. Although, I'm helping Bentley with the security, I work at home.
