Sophie Lee Gallego's POV
It's been three weeks and he's still unconscious. Still in the same unresponsive state. Everyday the doctor are trying to make his condition better but it's not giving any progress.
He lie so still, so quite in his bed as if like he's just asleep. He didn't look like the man my eyes meet that night.
Hunter.
They chanted his name and fear him too. I meet him as dangerous criminal who always had that smirk on his face, the one who never showed weakness. Cold, arrogant even selfish. I remember him pulling Agosto to safety while our car is ambushed. Iniwan niya ako roon.
Did the thought of saving me that day ever occured to him? O talagang wala siyang balak na iligtas ako. Or maybe he knows I'll survive? O baka may balak naman talaga siyang bumalik but Agosto stopped him. I wanted to know.
I remember the second time we met. He held a knife against my throat back then. His arms around my waist while I'm pressed against his body. I remember how it felt. The warmth, the firmness. I remembered his eyes staring right into me. His eyebrows, his nose, his jaw, his lips.
Shit! Why am I even thinking about this?
Umiling ako at ipinikit ang mga mata para huwag nang isipin iyon. But the second I close my eyes, I remembered it again.
Shit! I buried my face against my hands trying to forget it. Siguro dahil araw araw akong nandito at nakatitig lang sa kaniya kaya ganito. I tried to erase it kaso mas lalo ko lang talagang naiisip. I tried to divert my mind to something else, I thought of Adler but then bigla ay siya na naman ang naiisip ko.
"Saan ka pupunta?" Sebastian asked when I head to the door.
"Magkakape lang." sagot ko at lumabas na.
Dalawang linggo na ako ang nagbabantay sa hospital kapag gabi. Hindi pwede si Sebastian dahil kay Aki. Abala naman si Calliope sa Alpha. Kaya palaging ako talaga ang naiiwan sa amin. They prefer it too kahit si Adler kasi ang Alpha ang nagbabantay kay Hunter ngayon at kung nandito rin ako mas madali ang pagbabantay sa aming dalawa.
Who could predict that Hunter would become a VIP member of Alpha? I couldn't blame Adler for it. When they knew who he was, they immediately give him a heavy security to keep Agosto and Maximo's men off him. They wanted him to live so he could tell them about Saint.
According to the investigation, Hunter spent three years with him in Italy before the incident happened. Malapit sila sa isa't isa. The reason why Hunter is here now in pursuit of Maximo is to avenge Saint's death. Lumabas sa imbestigasyon noon na maaaring may kinalaman ito sa nangyari though no one knows the truth. Si Hunter lang. So he need to wake up and live.
He really need to wake up now. Mababaliw ako rito.
"Kailan ka pa naging mahilig sa kape?" I blinked from staring absentmindedly at the cup of coffee in my hands. I look up to see Thalia. Nagkunot ako ng noo.
"Bakit ka nandito?"
"May dinaanan lang. Naisip ko puntahan na kita kasi hindi ka na nakakauwi." She said and turned to look at Hunter beyond the glass wall. She stared at him with seriousness I could not understand. Bumaling siya sa akin pagkatapos ng ilang minuto.
"Alam mo na ba ang balak nina mommy at daddy?" She asked. I shook my head because I have no idea.
"Anong plano? Saan?"
"Ipapadala ka niya sa America."
Nagkunot ako ng noo.
"Nasa Alvarez sila ngayon. They'll beg kuya Adler to break up with you. They will cut our ties with the Alvarez."
