So welcome back to "In the Night". Hope yall enjoy SEASON TWO. This chapter is going to be less spice. more fluff. and maybe some tension? Between WHO!? Read to find out <3]

The last few days flew by, and I hadn't seen Adaman since our little debacle-turned-makeup session.

Now, it was the day of the festival and I was wearing a shoulderless dress that Anthe made. It was very similar to the Galaxy Team uniform in its gradient of dark to light blue, tied waist, and open sleeves. The skirt was low at the front and longer at the back. Anthe and Arezu both did my hair and makeup.

My hair had been curled, but I begged them to at least let me keep it in a ponytail - in case I should need to run. My lips were tinted burgundy, my lashes thickened and darkened. The blush on my cheeks would hopefully hide my real blush whenever I got flustered around Adaman.

"Adaman is going to swoon over you!" Anthe cooed, feeling my curled hair.

With crossed arms, Arezu frowned, "Just don't forget... your real date is Rei,"

"I know! At the end of the day, Rei and I are really good friends, and I should be happy that I get to spend time with him," I nodded positively.

It was finally the afternoon, and I could hear the bustle of Jubilife Village's festivities.

Once Arezu was ready to go, we exited Anthe's.

Our once-small village had grown in size and residents, but also visitors. Chatter, laughter, music and cheers filled the air. Lanterns, decorations, merchant booths, food stalls, performers, and all the usual festivities could be seen along the road.

"Anthe! Y/N!" A familiar voice called.

I spun around to see something in the distance that made my stomach hurt.

There, stood Irida waving her arm excitedly at us, her hand on Adaman's arm.

I don't feel good.

Arezu and I started walking over to them, dodging all the festival goers.

"You're not good at hiding your emotions," Arezu muttered to me as we walked.

"I don't know what you're talking about," I lied.

"Adaman always escorts Irida to these festivals, remember?" she whispered.

That was true. I always knew Adaman escorted Irida. I didn't know why I forgot about that.

What then started to bug me was how Adaman threw a fit that I had to be escorted here by Rei.

It wasn't fair.

We finally reached Adaman and Irida, and I was having such difficulty looking at them.

"Y/N, you look gorgeous!" Irida squealed and I was surprised with a hug.

She was genuine and kind.

I shouldn't let the formalities of the clan leaders having to show face together bother me. Irida was an amazing person, and I knew she had no intention to pursue Adaman.

"Thank you," I kept my eyes on the ground.

"Why aren't you looking at me?!" Irida frowned, grabbed my chin, and forced me to look directly at her.
