(Sorry for being dead for so long, I had three big tests and I needed to study and take a break 😭 DW I have a bunch of oneshot ideas I wanna do, so hopefully there will be more updates)
Humming filled the air as Y/N walked along the crowded paths. Stalls with vendors selling things from food to pretty trinkets filled practically every corner. People swarmed up to them, giving them money in exchange for what they had to offer. Y/N smiled at the sight. Her village was always busy, and it ironically calmed her down. It meant the place was full of life, and everything was going well.
The few times the marketplace was silent and sullen was when demons attacked, driving everyone to cluster in their homes, even if it was day. Those days were the worst in Y/N's life. Thank goodness for the demon slayers.
She sighed at the thought of the most recent slayer. His overuse of the word 'flashiness', his eccentric clothing, and more. Still, he was quite amusing to see. Like the busy marketplace, busy and big and wondrous and filled to the brim with all sorts of things, he was interesting and unique, and piqued her curiosity. She knew it probably was a fact you couldn't be bored with him around.
She stopped by a vendor she knew all too well. "Hello sir, how are you today?" she asked. The vendor smiled at her, and a conversation was formed. It persisted for a few more minutes as Y/N bought some ingredients for dinner later from him.
"Oh, have you heard about the new person?" he brought up, looking at Y/N. She gave him a puzzled and amused face. "New people arrive every week or so. We're not that remote." she answered instead, carefully placing the ingredients in her bag. "No, the stranger you told me about, the Hashira." Y/N immediately paused. She turned her gaze to the vendor. "Him? Is he in town now?" she asked, intrigued. It had been half a month, he was back quite quickly. The vendor nodded, a teasing glint in his eyes. "I'm sure, and I also heard that he is eating dinner not too far from here." Y/N rolled her eyes, smiling when the vendor said this. He, of course, heard about Uzui, and his and Y/N's interaction.
"Alright well, thank you for letting me know." Y/N stated, waving goodbye. The vendor returned the gesture, and off Y/N went.
Still, she couldn't deny that having another encounter with that stranger wouldn't be the worst. As she passed by vendors and stalls, her mind drifted to other things that had happened that day.
"Y/N!" a loud voice burst Y/N from her thoughts, surprising her. She quickly turned around and saw Uzui, the 'flashy' Hashira. She smiled softly as Uzui ran towards her. Behind him, Y/N could see three women chasing after him, all donning different clothes and hairstyles.
Uzui engulfed Y/N in a hug, grinning as Y/N flushed from the contact. "Y/N, it's great to see you again! I want to introduce you to my wives." he stated, finally loosening his grip on Y/N. Her eyes widened as she examined all three women. "You have 3 wives?!" she gasped, astonished.
"It's so nice to meet you! Uzui told us about you and how you saved his life!" A woman wearing a blue kimono stated, swarming Y/N for an embrace next. "Suma! Get off of her, you're annoying Y/N!" a girl with black hair and yellow tips wearing a red kimono stated, pulling 'Suma' back. The lady with a ponytail, the third one, simply watched, giving Y/N an apologetic smile.
"No, it's okay. I don't mind hugging." Y/N grinned, patting Suma's head. Suma smiled widely, and hugged her even tighter, babbling about something Y/N couldn't catch. However, she had an inkling it was about how 'sweet' she was. Immediately, Suma and Makio began to talk about perfumes, clothes, dinner, etc. while Hinatsuru and Y/N listened attentively. Uzui held a chuckle at the sight of them all.
"Do you want some help with your things, Y/N?" Uzui asked, as he picked up one of Y/N's items. Y/N's eyes widened. She completely forgot about her dinner. "Oh, I suppose so. Thank you." Y/N responded, smiling softly.
Uzui picked up all of the items as his wives continued to chat with Y/N, all of them walking to Y/N's home. "Oh, and the seamstress was so sweet! She gave these 3 kimonos to us, they're so pretty!" Suma exclaimed, twirling quickly to show off her kimono. "She's actually the one who taught me how to sew, she's always creating amazing new kimonos." Y/N admitted, looking over at Suma. "She did?! You must be great at sewing then! I wish I knew how to sew!" Suma wailed, clinging onto both Y/N and Hinatsuru. "Maybe you could teach me and Suma how to sew one day, Y/N?" Hinatsuru asked, as she glanced at Y/N. "Yeah, because I don't wanna be the only one around here with an actual brain and actual sewing skills." Makio butted in, crossing her arms.
"Possibly. Oh, and we're here." Y/N replied, as she stopped in front of her house. "Make yourselves at home." she opened the door, and immediately Suma ran in, followed by Makio, and finally Hinatsuru. Before Y/N could go in herself, she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Hey Y/N? Can I talk to you for a second?" Uzui's voice rang out behind her, and Y/N turned around to face him. "Of course. What do you need, flashy Hashira?" she smiled, a twinkle in her eye. "I was wondering if you would like to come visit us sometime, when we leave. My wives very much adore your flamboyant company." he stated, grinning. Y/N paused, thinking for a moment. She didn't have any family, and although she had friends, she didn't have much to do nowadays. Y/N nodded, giving Uzui a closed-eye smile. "I don't have a very busy schedule, so why not? And I think both you and your wives are nice people to be around with." she answered.
She missed Uzui's pink tinted face, as she heard Suma and Makio yelling about some things. "We should probably get back. Who knows what they're doing now." Y/N chuckled, turning around and walking through the doorway. Uzui smiled as he followed her. Hopefully, he'd gain a fourth wife soon.
