Well, this marks the end of the outcodes! Or, at least, the chance of them being the MC. They could still show up as side characters!
_______________________________________"Did you hear that?"
"Hm?"
Asgore tilts his head, curious, a concentrated look on his face. His hearing is better than most monsters, so it isn't surprising that he heard whatever it is before Toriel. When Toriel's only reaction after she tries to hear whatever he's hearing is a shrug, he grows a bit exasperated.
"Nope, 'nothin."
He frowns.
"It's, um... It sounds a bit like... static?"
He gasps, face twisting into a worried expression after a split-second realisation, distress in his voice.
"You don't think someone fell into one of the hidden ditches and broke their phone? Oh, golly, what if they can't get back up?!?"
Hands on his cheeks, Asgore grows even more horrified. Before Toriel can get any input in, he immediately rushes off in the direction of the sound. It's rather deep in the forest, to the point he's surprised he even heard it! It gets louder the closer he gets, a slightly uncomfortable ringing in his ears, and after about a ten minute run, he finally reaches the source of the sound.
He pauses, shocked. It's um, a skeleton? He tilts his head. Except, not exactly. It's as if he's looking at them through a screen by all the error signs on them. Heck, there's even a loading screen!
It's about seventy percent done, so he waits patiently for the frozen monster to move. Maybe they got lost and were soooo worried that whatever that is happened! Or- oh no, are they sick?! He doesn't really know a lot about monster illness since there's so few cases, but regardless-
Asgore will make sure they're okay!
With that thought in his mind, Asgore entertains himself by watching the things around him. There's a few critters around going about their lives, and Asgore thinks he sees a surface flower beneath some of the snow. They're rare, but their seeds sometimes fall through one of the smaller holes in the ceiling. Things can get in easily, but it's harder to get out.
He smiles. Maybe if there's more than one, he can take one and try to plant it by his home! He adores gardening.
While contemplating if it would fare better as an indoor or outdoor plant, he simultaneously hears two noises. The crunch of snow in the clearing and a long beep sound. He turns to face the crunch first, grinning when he notices it's Toriel. He points at the floor, excitement in his eyes.
"Tori, look-!"
He never gets to finish his sentence. Toriel has a horrified look on her face, gazing at the monster behind him, and it's all he can focus on.
"As-!"
He doesn't get to hear the rest of her sentence. He doesn't get to hear her voice again.
