⚡️

They had arrived. Finally. Ivy couldn't stand another minute of that train ride. She had fallen asleep a bit so that made the journey somewhat better. Ron's presence, however, made it feel like a nightmare. Not that he was a bad person, he just spoke a lot and pulled faces and had a disgusting rat and Ivy didn't know him so therefore, she felt uncomfortable.

As they got off the train, Ivy and Harry were surprised to see Hagrid. "Right then, first years! This way, please! Come on, Hurry up!"

Ivy felt weird in her uniform, her black skirt flowed around her knees, and her white socks covered most of her calves. She wore a black robe, like everyone else which flowed around her ankles and her wrists. She walked past a red bench which said Hogsmeade and stopped beside her brother in front of Hagrid.

"Hello, Harry. Hello, Ivy."

"Hi, Hagrid," Harry grinned, wide.

"Hi," Ivy said, quietly, with a small but genuine smile.

"Whoa!" Ron voiced everyone else's thoughts at the sight of Hagrid, he was a very tall man after all.

"Right then, this way to the boats. Come in now, follow me."

They had to sit in boats to get across a lake, Hogwarts coming into view.

Ivy thought it was beautiful, it was dark so she couldn't see much but the old castle, with halls so high and roofs so pointy, glistened under the moonlight and orange lights (fire) emitted from within.

⚡️

All the first-year students walked up a bunch of stone steps, looking around at the beautiful architecture and admiring it. They all eventually came to a stop when they reached a figure standing in front of them.

The woman stood with her head raised with pride, dressed in emerald green robes and a black, pointy hat. She was old and wrinkled and yet smiled warmly at the sight of all the eager and nervous students.

( AN: Writing this after the news of Dame Maggie Smiths death and I'm struggling, help. Im literally holding back tears x /* )

"Welcome to Hogwarts." She had an accent and clapped her hands. Instantly, Ivy could tell that this woman had authority and respect which the young girl admired. "Shortly, you'll pass through these doors and join your classmates. But before you can take your seats, you must be sorted into your houses. They are Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. Now, while you're here, your house will be like your family. Your triumphs will earn you points. Any rule-breaking and you will lose points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points is awarded the house cup-"

"Trevor!"

Students snickered as this one boy- Ivy assumed this was Neville- jumped to the floor at the professor's feet and grabbed onto a frog which was also disgusting. Why did everyone but her have disgusting pets?

"Sorry," he muttered and walked away.

The woman continued, "The sorting ceremony will begin momentarily." She walked away.

"It's true then," A voice instantly called out and grabbed their attention, "What they're saying on the train."

Ivy looked back to see a pale boy with slicked white-blonde hair lean against the stairs, a smirk on his face as he looked directly at them.

"Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts."

People instantly began whispering making Ivy roll her eyes. She didn't know how much longer she could put up with people treating her brother like a cool celebrity when in reality he was just her idiot little brother.
