⚡️

Christmas had rolled around sooner than expected, it felt like just yesterday it was the start of September and Ivy was boarding the train to Hogwarts and now it was already Christmas holidays.

Unfortunately- but actually, very fortunately- Ivy was one of the only Slytherins who was staying for Christmas. The entire pureblood squad were leaving to be at home with their families. Davina had mentioned how on Christmas day, they would all attend a ball at whoever was hosts house and dressed up all fancy and Ivy really realised in that moment how rich they all were. This year it was being hosted at the Greengrass' household which was actually a manor. Apparently all their houses were big and fancy manors.

Davina wouldn't shut up about how she wanted to stay and be with Ivy and keep her company but Ivy, wanting the exact opposite of that, made Davina talk about her parents which made her realise how much she missed them and caused her to cry for hours. It got the job done, though.

Ivy sat on the common room sofa, Twilight in her lap as she read a book, the other students walking out the room in their robes, trunks in hand.

"Oh, Ivy, I'm going to miss you so much," Davina cried out and hugged the girl.

Ivy tensed up, "We're still not close enough to be hugging."

Davina backed away and smiled, "Yet."

Ivy rolled her eyes and looked up. Davina plopped onto the sofa next to Blaise, who was already sitting there, and Theo, who just came down.

"Why are we always waiting on those two divas?" Theo groaned.

He had been in a mad mood, clearly not looking forward to going home. Ivy gathered that it was just him and his dad, Theodore Nott Senior, who was an old and strict man who married Theo's mom when she was quite young before she died in their home. Apparently, she was ill. Theo was young when it happened, not remembering the woman. It was things like that which made Ivy wonder how alike they actually were but although they were becoming relaxed around each other, they weren't friends and so Ivy would never know.

"Says you. I've been waiting for all of you for a bout an hour," Blaise argued.

Blaise on the other hand had become a lot more friendly with her. He was able to crack jokes and have a simple conversation and also knew when to just let her be. She didn't mind moments where she was alone with him, it didn't feel awkward. He too wasn't excited about going home, but he didn't seem as depressed as Theo. With him, Ivy learnt his mom was a rich and powerful woman who married rich, childless men before they mysteriously died and she inherited all their money. Ivy kind of thought it was iconic. Blaise didn't seem too thrilled by the reputation.

"Daphne's doing her hair right now, she forgot to pack some things so she did it this morning," Davina informed them.

"Wanna bet Draco's still doing his hair?" Theo raised his brows.

"That's a losing bet, we all know he is," Blaise replied.

"Ivy, I hope you don't miss us too much. You might feel really lonely but don't worry I'll owl you everyday," Davina told her.

"On the contrary, Davina," Ivy looked up, "I'm going to be having the time of my life without all of you and I wish that, for whatever reason, you all go away for ten months. Or better yet, forever."
