A small crowd of Sand Rockers gathered outside the game center, talking amongst themselves as Justic and UnSuur arrived, and Justice went inside while UnSuur stood guard outside at the door to prevent people from going into the building that was now a crime scene. Among them were Logan, Fang, Owen, Trudy and the builder.
Justice knelt next to the body covered in a white sheet that was stained in blood. In all his years as Sheriff in Sandrock, he never imagined having to do this. He lifted the sheet and grimaced when he saw her. She'd been stabbed multiple times and had self-defense marks as if trying to fight off her attacker. Someone either had a grudge against Catori or there was just a psycho loose in Sandrock.
Justice covered her back up and stood, walking behind the counter where apparently the attack started. The glass counter was shattered, broken glass and blood stains everywhere. More bloodstains on the floor and blood splatter on the wall. The one thing that was missing was the murder weapon. The cash register was open, but all the cash was there, which ruled out robbery as the motive for the murder.
He went to the back room where she had an office, and his eyes widened when he saw the mess. There were papers scattered everywhere, and file cabinets were open and a safe she had for important documents stood open but the safe was empty except for a loan document. Taking a handkerchief from his pocket, Justice carefully picked up the document and looked at it.

It was a receipt for a loan for $400,000 and in writing was a small paragraph and it said the loan must be paid within ninety days of the opening of her Catori world. Could this be the reason she was killed? Whomever lent her money, came back to get their money and when she couldn't give it to them, they killed her?
Catori world had been open for six months and didn't do much business, but she'd insisted on keeping it open even though she was nearly bankrupt, which would be a reason she couldn't pay back the loan. Justice put the paper in a bag he'd brought from Civil Corps and searched for more clues. The computer was on and on the screen was the business's financial report and it said she was in debt for about $300,000 and that wasn't even the loan, it was in addition to the loan.
Justice was about to turn away when he spotted a drop of blood on the keyboard. It was small and it was fresh. He took out a q tip and applied it to the blood drop, then put it in a smaller bag he had in his pocket. Frowning, he wondered why there was blood in here and only a drop. There was none anywhere else in the room.
Then it occurred to him that the blood might be the killers. He or she could have injured themselves when killing Catori. Justice quickly left and went outside to talk to UnSuur. "I need you to stand guard while I go get a gurney to put the body on." UnSuur nodded and assured Justice he'd take care of things.
"Fang, you can help me. Let's go." Justice and Fang went to the clinic to get the gurney then when they got back to the game center, Fang helped Justice put the body on the gurney. They'd have to take her to the basement of the blue moon because it had a freezer to keep the body chilled until she could be buried.
