Grace put her fingers at her temples as if warding off a headache. "A corpse can't just walk away. It's not possible. Someone had to have stolen the body. This makes no sense."
Jordan and Logan agreed. "No, it doesn't but it's the only thing that's happened. I wish we had eyes on the town at night like a camera so we could see anything or anyone that might be wandering at night."
Suddenly, a loud shriek pierced the air, a scream they could hear even from inside the workshop. Jordan and Logan and Grace ran outside to see what was going on. They could see Justice and UnSuur racing for the Commerce building. Jordan and Logan ran for the Commerce building and a small crowd of Sandrockers gathered outside the door.
When Logan and Jordan ran inside, they saw Yan lying face down in a pool of his own blood with a knife sticking out of his back, the blade going all the way through his chest. "What the fuck?" Jordan asked, more out of shock than anything.
Mian stood there shaking and tears running down her face. They knew she wasn't crying because she loved Yan but because she was so scared that she couldn't believe she found his body.
Jordan put her arms around her and guided her outside, so she didn't have to look at him anymore. When they got outside, Mian began shaking violently and her eyes were wide with terror. "What happened Mian?"
Mian shook her head and looked at Jordan. "I don't know Jordan. I went to pick up some commissions and he was just lying there, dead. What's going on? First Catori and now Yan. Are we going to be next?" Mian asked, her eyes wide and voice filled with terror.

Jordan hugged her shoulders. "No Mian. I wouldn't worry. Justice and UnSuur will get some answers. With Logan's help, they're sure to solve this in no time." She assured Mian, hoping she was right and felt the same fear Mian had, wondering if they were next.
Logan came outside and put his arm around Jordan and looked at Mian. "Are you going to be okay Mian? I know finding him like that must have been a shock."
Mian nodded but still felt scared. "Yeah, I'll be fine, but I'm scared. What if the killer comes after us next?" Mian said shakily.
Logan reached out and squeezed her arm. "Not as long as I'm around. I'll help Justice and UnSuur protect Sandrock." He smiled at Mian and gave Jordan a kiss. "I'm not letting anything happen to any of the ladies, nor the men."
Jordan squeezed Mian's hand. "Logan and I have to go home so Grace can leave but don't be afraid to knock on the door if you need anything okay?" Mian nodded and Jordan took Logan's hand, and they headed back to the workshop.
Grace ran for the Commerce building when Logan explained what happened and he and Jordan checked on Zoe then got into bed.
Logan held Jordan against his body, feeling protective. He looked at her. "Jordan, I know you can take care of yourself, but I'd feel better if you didn't go anywhere alone for a while. Take Grace with you or Justice if I'm not around, okay?"
Jordan smiled and put her head on his chest. "I won't but Justice will be busy investigating, along with UnSuur but if I need anyone, I'll go to Owen or Hugo. They've been a big help lately."
