"Di?" I call wandering through the halls.
She didn't look okay when we were hugging before and I saw Joe with the stranger girl before. I don't know what's going on between Joe and Dionne, but certainly something is going on. That day when he fought with Omer, they both went missing and they both came back at the same time. Also, the secret glances, but Joe and Dionne's glances are not like mine and Omer's when we were starting our thing; their glances carry challenge, violence maybe or their attitude I really don't know.
"Joe- shit!" I scramble back at what I saw covering my mouth with my hand eyes wide.
I hurry away slamming into a familiar chest.
Omer steadies me, "what's wrong?" he asks frowning down at me, "N-nothing!"
Shit, it came out squeaky. He looks behind me at where I was coming from taking a step forward.
I step around him blocking his path, he raises a brow "Dove" he warns but I don't step aside.
Instead, I reach up slamming my lips against his, he freezes in place smirking against my lips, "what are you hiding, baby? Hmm? Tell me."
"Mm, nothing." I say against his lips pushing him backwards leaving the whole hallway.
"Ro! Fuck!" I hear Dionne rush behind us, I whirl to find them standing together, Dionne's lips swollen and hair disheveled and Joe's lips swollen too with his hands in his pockets eyeing us.
I look up at Omer to find his eyes narrowed at them then looks at me in understanding.
"Um, I'll be leaving. Di, are you coming?" Joe asks and Dionne glances at me then Omer. We don't move so she nods and they both leave after saying goodnight.
I press my lips together looking up at the man standing behind me,
"I think I should stay at yours today." I say sheepishly. He wraps an arm around my waist and I reach up holding the lapels of his jacket, "music to my ears." He says kissing my neck.
"So, you're not upset?" I ask and he pulls back questioningly, "why would I be, dove?"
"Because apparently Joe is a player and he's doing God knows what with Di?"
"they're both adults, they are responsible for their actions and their choices. I have nothing to say in this. If I won't want anyone to stick their noses in my relationship then I won't stick mine in anyone'."
I nod, "but what if Di got hurt?"
He shrugs, "it's her choice."
I push at his shoulder, "heartless." I joke.
"Oh darling, this heart beats only for you."
I smile and wrap my arm around his waist leaving the hall heading home.
