Chapter I

I

Joong was having such a bad day today.

He was just on the phoe with his fiance, fighting for the nth time when his asshat of a boss called his attention that he had to drop the line without saying goodbye to his fiance, Nita.

"I'm not paying you to chat on the phone!" Dunk yelled at Joong.

If the pay was not good Joong would have quit a long time ago.

Dunk was your typical Nepo baby, who's the most spoiled brat Joong has ever met.

Sadly, Joong was assigned to baby sit, or rather be the secretary of Dunk.

Joong wanted to curse Dunk but he can't as he needs to pay the bills.

He is the only one with work in his family now, being hit bad when the pandemic happened, their family business was ruined, four years in, he is still trying to build everything back, paying debts while making sure that his parents and younger siblings are fed.

His fiance, Nita, was more well off than he is and always making Joong feel like shit, but she was also helping out with Joong's expenses so even if he hates it, he mostly just let her have her way.

If you asked Joong if he loves Nita, he can't say for sure, they were highschool lovers so he did love her. But now, he doesn't know if he still love her or just staying with her out of obligation.

Back to the issue at hand.

"Who are you on the phone with?" Dunk asked Joong, quite intrusively.

"It's personal, I'd rather not answer."

"But you are clocked in, on my dime!"

Joong wanted to punch Dunk on the face but it's almost time for performance review and Dunk for all his faults, was not stingy with money or any material things. It's just he thinks he is the most important person in the world and everyone should bow down to him.

"I was speaking with my fiance." Joong reluctantly answered.

"Oh, fiance huh, I thought you were speaking with some debt collector, having that expression, had a fight?"

"Can I not answer that?"

"I want to know."

"Yes, we had a little disagreement."

"Good! I will be going to a party and planned on leaving early, come with me, you can party your sorrow away."

"I would like to leave as soon as the office hour stop. Can you bring someone else?"

"Nah, I'd rather bring you, there's lots of pretty girls there, maybe you'll get lucky."

"I just said I have a fiance."

"That you are fighting with, come on, your the most good looking here, my father said I can no longer party without someone he trust because of the last incident."

Dunk did not really want to bring Joong along, as he is really good looking and he might get overshadowed but he was drugged the last time and almost got kidnapped. His father wanted to hire bodyguards for him but he just did not want to. He already compromised by working in his father's company, but if something else happened to him, he might just get locked up at home.

"I'll pay you for your time, 5K enough?"

Joong really wanted to punch Dunk in the face just once. He thinks he's all that because he is rich! But Joong did the math, he can get ahead of his rent and pay off some debt with that amount.

"Fine 10k! All you need to do is drink with me, make sure I don't get harassed."

"Fine, what time are we leaving?" Joong would have said yes with the 5K but 10k is just to big to pass on. He wanted to go back and make up with Nita, maybe get laid or something, he'll have to postpone that.

"Let's go to my condo first, oh, no, let's head on to the mall, I'm taking you shopping."

"I have clothes."

"You are hanging out with me, I'm not gonna get caught hanging out with people who doesn't dress nice."

"I'm at work that's why I'm wearing this shirt, I can come home and change."

"Total waste of time. Just come with me."

They went to the mall and against Joong's wishes, Dunk bought him a few pairs of branded clothes including shoes.

"I only need one." Joong complained.

"But there'll be lots of events, I don't want to go shopping everytime."

"I only said yes to this one."

"Don't be such a baby, it's not like you are going out with me for free."

"Can you stop mentioning money with me, you are not all that just because you can afford it."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I did not mean to offend you. You can tell me if I'm being unreasonable..." Dunk looked down, as if uneasy.

"Let's just head to your place so we can change."

They each took a shower and changed clothes. Dunk is back to his almighty self looking smug.
