"Another Mikaelson sibling.." I say. "I'm really starting to feel like our father."

"Enough, Madelyn."

Annika looks at the girl. She says she's twenty. Which makes her only two years younger than Alaina.

This has turned into a weird ass family meeting. Plus Millie. Lydia didn't really want to be included but Alaina made her come.

Connor even left work. Not that it's that hard for him, he is the fire captain of the main Beacon County fire station.

"Are we seriously just going to sit here?" I ask. "This must be how our father felt when you and Freya showed up out of thin air."

Annika glares at me but I know I'm not wrong. I know how wary he was of them both. He didn't know if he could trust either of them.

"I agree with Maddy."

I smile and Lydia. She hates agreeing with me on most things. She probably doesn't want to be here. Anything supernatural she wants no part of. We've all respected her wishes.

"Okay." I say. "I'm talking to her then."

"Not alone."

Jeremy follows me out of the kitchen and to the girl. Her name is Emily. I know she's not lying about that.

"What are those marks on you?"

She briefly looks at one of the many marks on her body. They're all made to look visible.

"They're punishment."

"For what?"

Jeremy takes the words right out of my mouth. I keep my ears on her heartbeat as she talks.

"For disobeying the coven."

"You were raised by the Bardin's." I say. "Why?"

"I was taken as a prize. Our grandmother could not have you so she took me."

Jeremy and I look at each other. She's not lying.

"Then why are you here now?"

She's guilty.

"I took down the spell that was keeping Dahlia imprisoned."

"You did what?"

I take a step forward just as Jeremy steps in front of me. I can feel my fangs coming out.

"I didn't have a choice."

"Bullshit!"

"Maddy, don't!"

Alaina and Connor rush over. They both grab me.

"Get off of me!" I snap. "She took the spell down!"

Connor immediately let's go of me. He looks at Emily.

"You don't understand."

"Help me understand." He says. "My daughter's life was on the line because of you!"

She stands up. Alaina keeps her hold on me. I don't know how much I trust her. Emily's sudden presence is unexpected. Especially right after I killed Dahlia.

"I didn't have a choice!"

I push Alaina off of me. I hold my hand out, throwing Emily's body to the nearest wall.

Everyone scrambles. I tilt my head as Emily struggles to breathe.

"Madelyn!"

I ignore Annika.

"Speak or I will snap your neck!"

"Auntie Maddy."

I let go of Emily, turning around to Hope. We had told her to stay in her room. She's not really a stickler for rules.
