13• You are selfish

I looked at the report in my hands , my eyes feel heavy with tears. Yesterday when I go to check on maa she was sleeping I sit there for 20 minutes but she didn't move , she looked so weak and fragile that I feel like I'm drowning and drowning in a deep ocean but nobody is there to help me. I know that now I'm stating my misery when she is suffering but how can I explain that she is what I am , I love her.

Doctor look at me and said " beta , I am trying all I can do but I think It would be better if you shift her to a better hospital it's my personal opinion as I know your mom will not agree to this but still it's important."

The report tells how critical her condition is and doctor also suggested to trim her hairs . I just can't... can't just do that it feels like she was the one who use to comb my hairs when I was little , telling me stories about fairies and witch's .

Standing outside the hospital I'm looking at the sky thinking about how to help her. She earned a lot her whole life but the thing is she never collected it for her but just me. Even if I spend all my savings I will not be able to afford those expensive chemotherapy ." It's hard being all alone . " I muttered .

Looking at the time I realised Im getting late so I quickly left for office , I prayed to Kanha in my mind to help me but also added at the end ' baki apki marzji".

In office

I'm today working on laptop to make a PDF of all the articles of our company , as soon as I finished it I hailed towards Adhiraj office. I knocked on the door and stand there for some time to get a response.

" Come in " here comes a sleep voice.
I opened the door and saw him leaning more in chair he looked at me . " Ah.. hi " I say. He nodded and say " hello , come sit " I meekly walk to the chair and sit in front of him , he removed his blue cut lense and now lean forward to listen what I have to say.

" I want to resign " I said and look at him to see his reaction. He looked into my eyes and said " Reasons "
" I think I can't tell you that. " I replied . " If salary is the reason I can 10x it , if you say " my eyes widened a little like what.....

" No no I..i want to spend a little more time with my mother and I think for soke time I will busy so I can't come to office. " I said looking down.

" So you can take leaves I will still pay you." He said studying my expression.

" My mom is not well and -" she hesitated but continued "I need to shift her to a better hospital so I'm moving to another city." She completed and I know I should not ask about anything further. " Can I help you in any way ?" I said.

She shakes her head furiously " no need for that I will manage. " It sound as she was resuring herself more than me.

I close my eyes for few seconds , unable to concentrate as numerous thoughts were roaming in my mind. First , I need to assure her safety and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to do it if she is away. Second, I don't want her to hate me. Third , but I have to do it . Fourth , she will hate me.

" Will you marry me ?"

I looked at her , opening my eyes but she didn't seem to understand what I said so I repeated.

" Mujsa shaadhi karogi "

She blinked her eyes and looked at me , suddenly she sneeze , again looking at me she said " mazak acha tha " and fake laughed.

But on seeing that I'm serious she stand up and said " sir I'm really worried about you now , did you fell of your bed yesterday and hit your head somewhere ?"

I looked at her while think how can I make her agree with me, I don't want to guilt trip her but still I have no other option. After a long sigh , I leaned back on my chair.

" Listen I'm a business man I don't do anything without profit in it , so your marriage with me will be beneficial for both of us. You have to stay by my side as wife and In exchanged I will arrange world's best doctors to treat your mother. And yeah I didn't hit my head. " I finished taking in a deep breath.

"I said I can manage on my own I don't need you to arrange world's best doctor for her" saying this she furiously try to leave reaching the door knob she halted . I don't know what she is feeling but I know soon guilt will engulfed her and helplessness too. I waited , waited for her to turn.

But she didn't turn , it might be that she is feeling drained from all the drama going on. Ohh love I don't want to do that but..... Okay get a hold on your emotions , I said to myself.

She said from there " You are selfish -" I see how her hands were shaking "- and I'm too ". I tighten my fist waiting for her answer.

Funny how she said he is selfish when he is most selfless person when the topic is about her.

" I will , I will marry you ."
