As the weeks passed, their days blended into one another, filled with stolen moments, laughter, and shared tenderness.
But one afternoon, Jungkook received a call from the company that shifted everything.
They had informed him he had to leave for another country for a music video shoot, and though he loved his work, his heart sank at the thought of being apart from her.
When he broke the news to her, he seemed more distressed than she expected. "I have to leave tomorrow morning," he said, running a hand through his hair.
His expression was conflicted-work was something he was passionate about, but the thought of leaving her behind weighed on him. "I don't want to go. I'm going to miss you so much," he said, his voice soft, as he sat on the bed, his shoulders slumping.
She, on the other hand, felt a small wave of relief wash over her. His departure meant she had time to focus on the mission she'd been secretly planning, but she couldn't let him sense that.
With a gentle smile, she walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders from behind. "It's your work, Jungkook. You have to go," she said, her voice soothing. "I'll be here when you come back. I promise."
He let out a heavy sigh, resting his head back against her shoulder. "But I don't want to go. I want to stay here with you." He turned slightly, pulling her into his lap, his arms wrapping tightly around her waist. "What if I cancel the trip?" he said, half-joking, half-serious, his lips brushing against her neck.
She chuckled softly, running her fingers through his hair. "You can't cancel something this important.
Plus, it's only a few days. We'll video call every day. You'll barely notice the time passing." She tilted his chin up to meet her gaze. "And when you come back, I'll be right here, waiting for you."
"But I'm going to miss you so much," he mumbled, his voice low and filled with emotion.
He leaned forward, burying his face in her chest like a child seeking comfort. "I don't want to be away from you."
She stroked his hair gently, trying to suppress the small smile that tugged at her lips.
His clinginess, though endearing, was making it a bit difficult to stay focused on her own plans. "I'll miss you too," she said softly, pressing a kiss to his head. "But we can't be together 24/7. You've got to do what you love, and I'm always here, okay?"
He sighed again, a little more dramatically this time, but he knew she was right. "Okay, okay... I'll go. But," he lifted his head, a playful smile forming on his lips, "you better keep your phone with you at all times. I'm going to call you every time I miss you, so don't even think about ignoring me."
She laughed, shaking her head. "I won't. I'll keep it close, I promise."
Jungkook pulled out his phone and handed it to her. "Take this one," he said. "It's my backup phone. I'll call you on it, so keep it with you wherever you go, okay?"
She nodded, taking the phone from him with a smile. "I will."
He stood up, walking toward the closet to start packing his bags. "I can't believe I have to leave tomorrow. Ugh, I hate packing," he grumbled, pulling out shirts and pants, tossing them onto the bed.
She watched him with a small smile, leaning against the doorframe. He always looked cute when he was frustrated.
"I'll help," she said, walking over to him. Together, they packed his essentials, joking and laughing between folding clothes and organizing his things.
