Jungkook and Y/N entered the apartment, the tension between them thick and heavy.

Y/N barely acknowledged him as she made her way straight to the bedroom, her face set in a cold, distant expression.

She laid down on the bed without a word, her back turned toward the door. Jungkook followed her hesitantly, standing by the doorway as he tried to figure out what to do.

"Y/N, do you need anything? I can get you some water, or maybe something to eat?" he asked gently, hoping to get at least some response from her. But she stayed silent, not even glancing his way.

He sighed softly, feeling the weight of her silence press down on him. He moved toward the bed, intending to lie down next to her, but before he could, she turned her head slightly and spoke in a cold, firm voice. "You’re not sleeping here."

Jungkook’s heart sank. "What? Why?" he asked, his voice soft with confusion and hurt.

"If you want to sleep in the bed, then sleep here, I’ll sleep on the couch," she said, her tone sharp but weary.

"No," he quickly replied, shaking his head. "I’ll sleep on the couch. You stay here."

Y/N didn’t argue with him, and he felt his chest tighten with the distance between them.

As he turned to leave, he hesitated by the door, looking back at her one last time. His heart ached for her, for what they used to be.

He bent down and pressed a soft, lingering kiss on her forehead—a silent goodbye for the night.

She didn’t push him away, but she didn’t kiss him back either. The neutrality of it stung.

With a heavy sigh, he left the room and settled onto the couch, staring at the ceiling as the silence of the apartment engulfed him.

The next morning, Y/N woke up early, the emotional weight of the night still clinging to her.

She went through her usual routine—freshening up, dressing for work—but all the while, she couldn’t shake the emptiness in her chest.

Jungkook watched her from the doorway as she silently prepared for the day, his heart heavy with guilt and longing.

When she finally emerged from the bedroom, Jungkook approached her with a tray of breakfast he had prepared. "Here, I made you something to eat," he said softly, holding out the tray to her with a hopeful smile.

Y/N took the tray without a word, her face expressionless. She didn’t thank him, but she didn’t reject it either.

She simply sat down and ate in silence, while Jungkook watched her, his heart aching at the distance that still remained between them.

After a few moments, Y/N stood up and began gathering her things, getting ready to leave for work.

Jungkook, not wanting her to walk out without at least trying again, spoke up. "Where are you going?" he asked, trying to keep his voice light, though the weight of the situation hung heavily in the air.

"I have a job, Jungkook," she replied coldly, not looking at him. "I can’t just sit around here all day."

"Should I drop you off?" he asked, his tone hopeful, wanting to at least spend a few moments with her before she left.

But she quickly shook her head. "No," she said, her voice firm. "I’ll manage."

Before he could say anything else, she turned and left, the door closing behind her with a soft thud.
