                                                                           Fifth year

Ellie giggled as she bounced down the stairs and into the kitchen where Sirius and Remus stood talking in a hushed tone. Ellie arched an eyebrow at them suspiciously.

"What are you two up to?" Sirius turned a bright smile on his face as he pulled Ellie into a bone-crushing hug.

"Your brother will be here soon. Your papa is going to go get food before the Weasleys get here." Ellie frowned and glanced between her dads. Remus cleared his throat and turned picking up a cup and offering it to Ellie before kissing the top of her head.

"I will be back soon. Drink the hot chocolate and maybe tell your dad what's been bothering you." Ellie forced a small smile as Remus left the room. Sirius chuckled lightly and wrapped his arm around Ellie's shoulders pulling her into the sitting room.

"Sit and tell me what's going on with you." Ellie huffed and plopped down on to the sofa careful not to spill her cup as she held it in both her hands.

"Out with it then pup." Ellie chewed on her bottom lip nervously before she looked up at her dad.

"Have you ever liked someone that James didn't like?" Sirius gave her a curious look.

"That is an odd question. I suppose I did at one time. Why do you ask?" Ellie shrugged and took a sip of her hot chocolate.

"I was just curious." Sirius stared at her for a long a moment and then he smiled softly.

"Do you like someone that Harry isn't fond of?" Ellie peeked over at Sirius and remained silent. She didn't want to answer that question.

"I don't think that I like anyone. Not that anyone pays much attention to me anyway." She mumbled quietly. Sirius chuckled then.

"Your mother use to say the exact same thing and your fa- James was obsessed with her. You will find someone pup." Ellie frowned at Sirius. She had made it very clear to him and Remus that they were her dads no matter who's DNA she shared.

It wasn't that she was angry with her biological parents, she just didn't remember them or want to continuously mourn them the way that Harry did,

But maybe it was different for her growing up with Remus and having Sirius after third year. But they were her parents, and she couldn't miss people that she didn't know.

Ellie flinched as a loud bang came from behind her and then a groan that she was all to familiar with.

"Hello, Ron." She said dully. Sirius chuckled and gave his daughter a pointed look. She shrugged and took another sip of her drink. Ellie stood slowly and moved out of the room before the twins could pop out of nowhere and try to prank her. Because frankly she was not in the mood to deal with them.

She made her way up the stairs and in her room, where she locked the door and climbed into her bed pulling the blankets up to her chin.

She knew that once her brother had arrived that she would be put in the background. And she was okay with that. Voldemort wanted nothing from her, She had nothing that he wanted.

Ellie stared at her door for over an hour and then it slowly opened and Nymphadora poked her head inside the door. Offering Ellie a gentle smile. Ellie sat up in her bed and smiled at Nymphadora.

She stepped into the room and closed the door behind her. Nymphadora didn't waste any time as she moved to the bed and sat down on the edge, patiently waiting for Ellie to speak.

"They told you that something was up with me?" Nymphadora smiled and shrugged lightly.

"Do you want to talk about it? Sirius explained a little and I only know of one person that your brother cannot stand and that is Draco Malfoy." Ellie's ears began to burn as she groaned.

"Dora what am I supposed to do?!" Nymphadora chuckled and took Ellie's hands in hers.

"Draco is a good boy. Just misguided by that father of his. Aunt Cissa is doing everything that she can to make sure that he turns out right." Ellie arched an eyebrow at her.

"What are you saying?" Nymphadora leans closer to Ellie.

"I'm telling you to do what makes you happy little one. Your brother will get over it."
