Ellie groaned loudly as she stumbled into the kitchen, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. She dreaded getting up early. But she knew if she didn't get herself up one of the twins would end up waking her up when she got here and she didn't need a heart attack right before the long day that she was about to have.
Ellie made her way over to the stove and started the kettle. Someone clearing their throat draws her attention. She frowns and turns around toward the noise.
Her body blushed at the site of Draco standing in the kitchen white button-down and black slacks and the sleeves of his shirt rolled up to his elbows. He stood next to Harry. Who stared at his sister in amusement.
"There's the Ellie I remember." Ellie narrowed her eyes at her brother, before flipping him off and turning her attention back to the kettle. Ellie sighed heavily and turned back toward them crossing her arms.
"What are you two doing here so early?" She snapped. Draco arched an eyebrow at her, but Harry just chuckled.
"Well, someone has to set up the tent and tables." Ellie scrunched her face as she glanced back and forth between the two of them.
The kettle whistled and Ellie made herself a cup of tea and took a sip before she looked at them again.
"So, what you two are chummy now?" Guilt took over Harry's features as he glanced at Draco. Draco leaned against the counter and crossed his arms, giving Ellie a blank look. She'd be lying if she said that look didn't hurt her.
"El. It isn't that simple. Draco and I have built the friendship over the last two years and we've-" Ellie let out a sharp laugh.
"Same as always. It's wrong when I do it. But it's completely acceptable when you do. Look I'm not in the mood to argue or listen to whatever this is. I have to get dressed." Ellie snapped, putting down the cup she left the kitchen in a huff.
Ellie took her time getting ready. She took an extra-long hot shower. She let herself air dry in Ginny's old room before she pulled on her dark green knee length lace dress with a high collar.
Ellie used magic to dry her hair and braid it down the side of her head. She didn't bother to do her make up. There wasn't anyone there that she was trying to impress. She slipped into her blat flats and finally made her way down the stairs.
She smiled when she noticed Ginny Hermione, Luna and Angelina standing in the living room. Ginny wore a simple knee length white gown that Ellie had sent to her.
Ginny rushed Ellie crushing her against her. Ellie grunted and laughed.
"I am so glad that you are here." Ellie pulled away from her and fiddled with the ring in her finger.
"I wouldn't miss this for the world." Ginny glanced down at the ring and frowned.
"Are you ever going to tell us who gave you that ring?" Ellie shifted from foot to foot, and she looked away from Ginny. Ignoring the fact that she had brought up the ring that she had been wearing for more than six years.
Hermione gasps and reaches around Ginny snatching Ellie's wrist examining the runes.
"The Ministry arranged a marriage for you?!" Ginny and Angelina glance at each other before they give Ellie a shared look. Ellie shook her head and shook off Hermione's hand.
"That isn't important right now. It's Harry and Ginny's day." Ginny's eyes narrow as she stares at Ellie. She knew Ellie well enough that the girl wouldn't say anything until she was ready.
Ginny linked her arm through Ellie's and offered a small smile.
"Come on everyone is waiting." Ellie rolled her eyes and let Ginny drag her out into the back yard and into the tent. Ellie smiled that the bright flowers and the red and gold decorations. Of course, they would drag Gryffindor into the wedding somehow.
Ellie smiled as she noticed the guys standing together and it looked like the twins were giving Draco a hard time. She shouldn't be happy about that. But she was. Molly was moving around everywhere trying to talk to everyone and Ellie just wanted to disappear.
"Alright, Unmarried people to the center!" Ellie growled as Ginny excitedly grabbed her and drug her to the middle. Ellie stumbled and hands landed on her upper arms steadying her.
Ellie turned her head and looked up to see who had caught her and she mentally cursed as Draco stood directly behind her. Ellie's head snapped to her right as she glared at Ginny who gave her an innocent smile.
"Now! Whoever is behind you will be your "Husband" for this game." Ellie's face flushed and she spun the ring around her finger.
"Each husband will be blindfolded and try to find their "wife" in the lineup." Ellie pinched the bridge of her nose; she already hated this game.
"You will have five minutes to talk with your partner. The winners get a spa day." Ellie suppressed a groan as she turned to Draco.
"I hate this already." Draco smirked and glanced around the tent.
"I have to admit. They are growing on me." Ellie gives him a curious look.
"You're serious?" Draco huffs a laugh.
"Your brother has been forcing me to family dinners here for the last six months. The Weasley's aren't as bad as I thought." Ellie fought a smile, and she shook her head. Draco gives her an amused look.
"What's the matter Lupin, surprised that my heart isn't a solid block of ice after all?" Ellie snorted and rolled her eyes.
"So, I'm Lupin now and not Potter?" Shame crossed Draco's face as he shook his head lightly.
"Little Wolf..." Ellie blinked rapidly and swallowed hard. That nickname was like a knife to her heart.
"Don't call me that. You don't get to call me that anymore." Her voice trembled as she spoke. Draco wanted so badly to reach out and hold her. To take away the pain that he had caused her. He wanted to fix what he had broken. But he didn't know if he would be able to.
