"sweetheart, I'll ask you something and without feeling hesitation you can deny okay?" Devaansh sat beside Devika in the living room. His hands holding hers in a beautiful grip

She nodded her head , scooting closer to him and looking at him with baby eyes

He chuckled, " Now don't give me these eyes please. Be serious" she smiled at him and again nodded, now getting serious.

"I have to go to the mansion tomorrow" he saw her posture getting stiff and he quickly pulled her on his lap

"Easy okay . Just listen to me completely"

Biting her lips , she nodded. He gently released her lips from her assault with his hands and shook his head asking her to not do that again.

"It's mom's birthday tomorrow and I have to attend the event.... If you don't want to stay alone... I mean do you want to come with me?"

He was aware that his request was inconvenient and bordered on excessive, yet he hoped for understanding. His eyes betrayed a hint of hesitation, acknowledging the imposition.

Devika's expression froze, her mind racing. That house - the same one where she was kidnapped and held captive years ago. The memories still lingered, dark and terrifying.

Devaansh's grip on her hand tightened, his fingers intertwining with hers. "If you're not comfortable, please say no. I completely understand." His voice barely above a whisper, he silently prayed she would refuse because he himself didn't want to burden with unnecessary requests.

"I just asked because I don't want you to feel alone. There's no pressure, meri jaan"

Her gaze drifted to their entwined hands, a mix of emotions swirling within her.

*Inner Monologue*

(Devaansh)

Please let her say no. Please don't let her feel uneasy. I knew it was a lot to ask, but I did and I promise I'll make it safe, make it right. [He silently prayed]

(Devika)

Why did he have to ask me this? I know he will keep me safe there. But what if...what if going back there will trigger something? What if I'm not ready?

Devika's voice was barely audible. "Devaansh, I...need to think about it." Her eyes searched his, looking for reassurance.

"I know Jaan. It's okay and remember there's no pressure, no hesitation. You'll say no and won't go against your inner feelings." he gave her a gentle smile. She blushed as she rested her head on his chest, hugging his torso and her grip on his hand tightened, a spark of determination igniting within her. Maybe, just maybe, facing her fears would set her free.

The next day , Devaansh was all set to leave as he looked at her, his eyes smiling, reassuring her of her decision.

He gently placed a kiss on her forehead. "I'll try to come early okay" she nodded, smiling brightly, forgetting about yesterday's talk and her decision already.

Her heart was at peace as his constant reassurance and support throughout the night made her relieved.
