As I drove to the office, a small smile played on my lips. After four days, I was finally going to see Lisa again. I couldn't wait to talk to her and figure out if she even wanted to discuss what had been brewing between us.

I parked my car and walked into the building, nodding briefly as some employees greeted me. My mind was too preoccupied to engage in small talk. I stepped into the elevator and pressed the button for the 27th floor. The moment the doors opened, I strode down the hallway toward my office, my heels clicking sharply against the floor.

When I entered, I scanned the room. As usual, everything was perfectly in place. I hate messy surroundings. A tidy space helps me think clearly.

I picked up the phone and dialed Seulgi. "Good morning, Seul," I said as soon as she answered.

"Good morning, boss."

"I need to discuss something important. Come to my office now."

"Okay, on my way," she responded before the line went dead.

I pulled out a file from my desk drawer and flipped it open. It was part of the pending work I’d left unfinished during my brief getaway to Hawaii.

After a few minutes, Seulgi entered Jennie’s office without knocking. She glanced at Jennie, who was absorbed in her file, and smirked to herself. I thought Jennie Kim would be a little less obsessed with work by now. Guess I was wrong.

Clearing her throat, Seulgi said, "So, boss, what’s the big issue?"

Jennie closed the file and looked up at her. "How many meetings do I have today?"

"You postponed all the meetings from last week. Some of the clients insisted on rescheduling for today, so you have seven meetings in total. The first one is in 30 minutes," Seulgi informed her.

Jennie sighed. "Alright. Send me any remaining paperwork; I need to review it. Is the presentation ready for the upcoming meeting?"

Seulgi nodded. "Yes. Sehun completed it and will handle the presentation."

"Good. Prepare the meeting room, and send me the pending files immediately," Jennie ordered in her usual no-nonsense tone.

"Got it, boss." Seulgi left the office with a smirk, quietly amused at how intense Jennie always got when it came to work.

As the first client of the day arrived, Seulgi greeted them with a polite smile. "Hello, I’m Kang Seulgi, Ms. Kim’s secretary."

The man returned the smile. "I’m Mr. Wang, CEO of Wang Corporation." He gestured toward the woman next to him, blushing slightly. "And this is my secretary, Ms. Jeon."

"Pleasure to meet you, Ms. Jeon," Seulgi said, exchanging a polite handshake.

"Likewise," Ms. Jeon replied, smiling warmly.

"This way, please," Seulgi said, leading them to the meeting room.

After settling the clients in the meeting room, Seulgi returned to Jennie’s office. She knocked three times before hearing Jennie’s voice from inside. "Come in."

When Seulgi stepped inside, she found Jennie still immersed in paperwork. "The clients are here. I’ve seated them in the meeting room," she reported.

Jennie closed the file and stood up. "Good. Now go tell Lisa to attend the meeting."

Seulgi blinked, confused. "Boss, Lisa’s got a lot of work assigned by the seniors. How can she attend the meeting?"

Jennie took a step closer, her eyes cold with authority. "Tell the seniors to handle their own work. If anyone tries to dump extra tasks on Lisa or gives her a hard time, I’ll fire them without a second thought."

Seulgi raised an eyebrow, a teasing smile tugging at her lips. "Alright, boss. Got it."

Jennie rolled her eyes at Seulgi's grin before brushing past her and heading toward the meeting room.

Seulgi couldn’t help but chuckle softly to herself. Jennie Kim, looking out for someone other than herself? Now this is getting interesting.

When Lisa arrived at Kim Empire, she heard the whispers among the employees—The boss is already here today.

The moment she heard that, a smile crept onto her face. Jennie was back. Lisa hadn't seen her in four days, and those days had felt excruciatingly long. She missed Jennie terribly—her captivating eyes, the way her presence filled every room, even the smallest glance they exchanged. But being just an intern, Lisa knew she couldn't simply walk into Jennie's office without a reason. How pathetic is this? I miss her so much, and I can’t even say hi.

With a sigh, she sat at her desk, drowning herself in the pile of work her seniors had conveniently dumped on her. She focused on typing, trying to shake off the urge to march upstairs and see Jennie.

Just then, Seulgi entered her office without knocking.

Lisa looked up from her work, her face lighting up with a smile. "Good morning, unnie!"

Seulgi leaned casually against the desk, observing Lisa’s unusually cheerful mood. "Morning, Lisa."

Lisa noticed the playful glint in Seulgi’s eyes and raised an eyebrow. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Seulgi grinned, folding her arms. "The boss asked you to attend the meeting today. She wants you in the room with her."

Lisa's smile faltered. "Wait, what?" She stared at Seulgi in disbelief. "How can I attend a meeting? I’ve never been in one before. What if I mess up?"

Seulgi fought the urge to laugh at Lisa’s panicked expression. "Relax, kiddo. You don’t have to do anything except sit there. Sehun’s presenting, and Jennie will handle the rest. I’ll be in the room too. It’s no big deal." She gave Lisa a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Come on, it’ll be fine."

Lisa took a deep breath, still looking uneasy. "I hope so... but I’m nervous now, unnie."

Seulgi smirked, leaning closer to tease her. "Don’t worry, Lisa. Jennie won’t scold you in front of everyone."

Lisa's face turned a deep shade of red as she pouted. "Ugh, unnie, stop teasing me!"

Seulgi burst out laughing. "Hahaha! You’re too cute, Lisayah."

Lisa rolled her eyes, but a shy smile tugged at her lips. "Yeah, yeah, I know." She stood up from her chair, adjusting her blazer. "Okay, let’s go before I change my mind."

Seulgi chuckled, walking beside her. "Atta girl. Let’s see how you survive your first meeting with Jennie."

Lisa shot her a playful glare. "You're enjoying this way too much, aren’t you?"

Seulgi grinned. "Oh, you have no idea."

With her heart racing and nerves tangled up inside her, Lisa followed Seulgi toward the meeting room, silently hoping she could keep it together in front of Jennie.
