Lisa woke up with an uncontainable excitement, practically leaping out of bed. She got ready quickly, her mind racing with thoughts of returning to Kim Empire and seeing her crush—now her boss—once more.

She gave herself one last look in the mirror, smoothing down her outfit, and smiled with anticipation. Grabbing her purse, she headed downstairs, her heart practically skipping beats.

When she reached the dining room, she found her parents and cousin, P'Yaya, already seated and enjoying breakfast.

Mrs. Manoban noticed the glow on Lisa’s face, and a knowing smile tugged at her lips. Her daughter’s happiness was infectious, especially since Lisa was their cherished only child.

“Good morning, Mom, Dad,” Lisa greeted cheerfully, leaning in to kiss them both on the cheek.

“Good morning, sweetie,” Mr. and Mrs. Manoban responded, matching her energy with warm smiles.

“Morning, P'Yaya,” Lisa greeted her cousin, giving her a quick kiss on the cheek.

“Good morning, Lili,” P'Yaya replied, her eyes twinkling with mischief. “You’re all dolled up so early—looks like someone’s eager to see their...”

Before P'Yaya could finish, Lisa swiftly clamped her hand over her cousin’s mouth, shooting a panicked glance at her parents. P'Yaya’s teasing smile only grew wider behind Lisa’s hand.

“P'Yaya, please,” Lisa whispered urgently, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment. “Just focus on your breakfast, okay?”

Lisa quickly removed her hand from P'Yaya’s mouth, giving her a pleading look as she took a seat at the table. P'Yaya, still grinning, decided to let her off the hook—at least for now.

As Lisa started eating, her parents exchanged a glance, sensing that something was up but choosing not to press her about it. They were just happy to see their daughter in such high spirits.

“So, you’re really excited about starting at Kim Empire, huh?” Mrs. Manoban asked, her tone light and curious.

Lisa nodded, trying to keep her cool. “Yeah, Mom. It’s a big opportunity, and I want to make a good impression.”

P'Yaya couldn’t resist adding a little jab, “I’m sure you’ll impress everyone—especially a certain someone.”

Lisa nearly choked on her toast, giving P'Yaya a wide-eyed look of warning. Her cousin just chuckled, clearly enjoying teasing her.

Mr. Manoban, ever the supportive father, patted Lisa on the shoulder. “You’ll do great, Lisa. Just be yourself, and everything will fall into place.”

“Thanks, Dad,” Lisa replied, feeling a bit more relaxed. But her mind kept drifting back to Jennie—how she looked during the interview, the way her voice had sent shivers down her spine during that phone call. She was excited, yes, but also nervous. How was she going to keep her feelings in check?

As she finished her breakfast, Lisa glanced at the clock. “I should get going. Don’t want to be late on my first day.”

P'Yaya winked at her. “Good luck, Lili. Knock ’em dead.”
