"So, what was the thing I should know?" Amara asked. She has just signed the contract for her new job and is sitting with her agent having lunch. Maria might be fourteen years older than her, but they became very close ever since she signed with her at eighteen , despite the age difference and the fact that Maria doesn't get Amara's jokes. They were like sisters more than anything.
" So, I decided to not tell you this before signing the contract because this opportunity is really good for you. You may be mad at me at first but do not overreact," Maria answers patiently without any kind of hint about what she is going to say next.
" You saying that I shouldn't overreact kinda makes me want to overreact not gonna lie," Amara jokes as she had no idea the bomb her agent is going to drop on her.
" Nicholas is Lyle," Maria casually says while taking a bite from her salad. " Nicholas as in my Nicholas???!" Amara shouts but lowers her voice when she notices people staring at her.
" Calm down. Yes, Nicholas as in Nicholas Chavez."
" Why the fuck didn't you tell me this BEFORE I signed the contract??!!! You DO realize that he is my ex fiancé and I haven't seen him in almost a YEAR!" Amara whispered-shouted at her agent, she loves her but she certainly doesn't want to work with her ex, especially since their breakup was nothing short of messy.
" I understand how you may be feeling right now Amara. But ever since you broke off the engagement, you have only released one album and haven't been in anything. I would hate to see you ruin your career because of what happened and we both know that this is a great opportunity to get back into singing and acting. Your fans miss you and honestly, so do I," Her agents words were sincere and she did get her point. Ever since her and Nicholas called it quits, she has released one heart wrenching album and did not bother to do anything else. The breakup took a toll on her and she distanced herself from social media. It is time for her to be the rising popstar & talented actress she was supposed to be.
" Okay. You are right. But he better be professional about this or I am honestly just not gonna bother. I do not care if I seem bitchy or a diva."
" That's my girl!" They laugh and clink their glasses together.

She gets thoughts of their last time together, but shuts them down instantly. She tells herself that she is over him and what happened between them.
