Amara was sprawled across the couch in their apartment, her phone in hand and a mischievous grin on her face. "Nick! You have to see this," she said, barely able to contain her laughter.
Nicholas walked out of the bedroom, tugging a black sweater over his head. "What now?" he asked, clearly amused already.
She flipped her phone to show him a viral Twitter thread titled: 'Amara De Luca and Nicholas Chavez: Their Whole Timeline, Alleged Drama, and How They Started.'
"Oh, great," Nicholas groaned, dropping onto the couch beside her. "What does it say this time?"
Amara could barely speak through her giggles. "Listen to this: 'Rumor has it, Amara and Nicholas's first breakup was due to jealousy, and fans speculated her song lyrics hinted at unresolved tension.'" She let out a loud laugh, clutching her stomach. "Unresolved tension? Try unresolved chaos."
Nicholas leaned over her shoulder to read, his lips twitching in amusement. "Let me guess—they think every song you've ever written is about me."
"Yup. And there's a flow chart, Nick!" Amara turned the phone to show him a poorly made graphic connecting their public outings, cryptic tweets, and suspiciously timed interviews.
Nicholas ran a hand down his face, half-laughing. "This is insane. Do they have, like, private investigators following us?"
He leaned in closer, squinting. "They really put 'Avan's party' in its own category? What are we, an FBI case file?"
Amara scrolled further. "'And when Amara was seen with Jake at Avan's party...' Oh my God, Jake's getting dragged in this too! Poor guy, he's probably living his best low-key life, and here he is, part of my alleged drama timeline.!" She collapsed against him, laughing so hard she had to wipe tears from her eyes.
Nicholas arched a brow, pretending to be offended. "Wait, why isn't Chad getting roasted? He deserves it way more."
"Oh, don't worry—he's in here too!" Amara giggled, scrolling further. "They called him 'the obvious rebound.' Honestly? Accurate."
Amara's laughter doubled as she pointed at the text. "They've got receipts for everything."
Nicholas laughed, pulling her closer. "You know what they're missing? The part where you couldn't resist me the second time around."
Amara shot him a glare, playfully swatting his chest."Excuse me? You were the one texting me first. Multiple times."
"And you answered every time," he retorted smugly, leaning in to kiss her cheek.
"Fair," she admitted with a grin. But then, her face turned mock-serious as she scrolled down. "Wait, hold up." She shoved the phone into his hands. "There are videos and photos of random girls claiming they hooked up with you. Care to explain, future husband?"
Nicholas froze, his eyes darting to hers. "We were broken up!" he blurted, clearly flustered but already laughing. "I was just... I was trying to get over you! It didn't work, obviously."
Amara bit her lip to keep from laughing. "Oh, so I wasn't replaceable?" she teased, nudging him with her elbow.
"Not even close," Nicholas said, his tone genuine despite the teasing glint in her eyes. "Besides, I've been thoroughly shamed in this thread. Look—they even ranked my post-breakup outfits. Who does that?"
