Anika, wake up, beta! Wake up, or you'll be late for college," her mother called out.

"Mumma, I’m getting up… let me sleep a little longer, please," Anika mumbled, still half-asleep.

"At least look at your phone! It's been ringing for the past five minutes!"

"Uff, Mumma, you won’t let me sleep in peace," she groaned, finally getting out of bed. Sitting up, she searched for her phone, picked it up, and answered the call.

"Hello? Who is this?" she asked in a sleepy voice, not bothering to check the caller ID.

"Anika, wake up already, baby! Did you forget that you have a best friend? And why weren’t you picking up my calls? Koi mil gaya hai kya? Hey Ram, mujhe toh pehle hi pata tha, kuch toh gadbad hai, Daya!" Aadhya, her best friend, said in her usual dramatic tone.

"Uff, Aadhya! Don’t start your nonsense so early in the morning, please. I’m already getting late for college."

"Acha, ab waha jaake mujhe bhool gayi hai, hain na? Koi na, dost dost na raha," Aadhya teased.

"Oh, Aadhya! How can I forget you? You are my only best friend, right?"

"Chal chal, don’t butter me up! I know you too well!" Aadhya said, laughing.

"Seriously, bro, I miss you!"

"Okay, I’ll meet you on your birthday. But for now, Aadhya, let me go! I have to get ready for college. Bye, love you! I’ll call you after college, okay?"

"Fine, fine. Go now!"

After disconnecting the call, Anika suddenly started shouting, "Mumma! Papa!"

Her father, concerned, asked, "What happened, beta?"

"Papa, I can’t find my earrings! I’ve been searching for so long!" she said, almost on the verge of tears.

"One minute… where is Di? I haven’t seen her since morning."

"Beta, she went to the temple. It’s Thursday, after all. She always visits the temple on Thursdays. Learn something from her. Look at her and then look at yourself," her mother said.

"Mumma, please don’t start!"

"Yes, Anita, don’t scold her. She’s just a child," her father tried to defend her.

"Aap toh na hi bole! Bachi kaha se dikh rahi hai? 20 saal ki hai vo!"

Just then, the doorbell rang.

"Anika, go check who it is," her mother instructed.

"Yes, Mom," Anika said as she opened the door.

"Dii, you’re back! You know, I was trying to find my jhumkas—the new ones! But I think they’re missing..."

"First of all, they’re my earrings, Anika. And second, why do you want to wear them? Are you going somewhere?"

"No, Di. It’s just for college. I wore traditional today, so I thought they’d match."

"Oh, I see. But the jhumkas you’re searching for… well, they’re on my ears," she said with a wink.

"Di! That’s not fair! I want to wear them too. Please, just for today!"

"Nope, they’re mine, and I’m already wearing them," she said, rolling her eyes.

"Di, what’s yours is mine! We always share things, right?" Anika teased, winking at her sister.

"Tu ruk jaa waha! Main tujhe sabak sikhati hoon!"

With that, they started running around the house, laughing.

Their parents watched them fondly. "Look how much they’ve grown," her father said.

"Yes, Abhinav, look at Aashka. It’s time for her to get married," her mother added.

"Yes, Anita, you’re right."

Finally, Anika managed to convince her sister to give her the jhumkas. "Okay, Mumma, Papa, I’m off to college!" she said, hugging them before leaving.

On the Way to College

"Uncle, drive fast! I’m getting late!" she urged, faking tears to convince her driver.

"Beta, you’re always late. What can I do?"

"Uff, Uncle, you know me, right? You also know how important sleep is for me!"

Yes, you’re thinking right. She sleeps late and always wakes up late.

Finally, they reached her college.

"Okay, bye, Uncle! See you after college!"

Her driver smiled. "Bye, beta." Then, thinking to himself, Ye abhi bhi bachi hi hai man se and chuckling.

At College

"Hey, Anika! What’s up? You’re late again!"

"Arey, Khushi, you know me na? I was just reading a novel and lost track of time!"

"Seriously, you and your novels! Why do you love reading so much? Reading is so boring! Think about it—it’s a total waste of time!"

"Don’t say that! Varna mujhse bura koi nahi hoga! Mere kitabon ke baare mai kuch mat bolna!"

"Fine, fine, I won’t say anything! Now let’s go to our classroom."

At Abhimanyu Raghuvanshi’s House

The dining table was silent as everyone ate their breakfast.

"So, when are you getting married?" His grandfather suddenly broke the silence.

"Abhimanyu, you’re already 28," he added.

"Please, Dadaji. I don’t want to get married. I’m happy as I am. I don’t need anyone in my life," Abhimanyu replied.

"Look, Abhimanyu, marriage is important. You’ll have a life partner, someone to share happiness with and grow old with. I’ll be straight with you—you have to give this state a queen," his grandfather said seriously.

"And we also want a bhabhi, Bhaiya!" his younger brother added.

Abhimanyu shot him a glare.

His father spoke up. "Abhimanyu, you need to move on from your past. I know it’s hard, but you have to."

"I’ve already moved on, Papa. And I don’t want to talk about this topic."

"Okay, if you say you’ve moved on, then why are you refusing to get married? Tell me, Abhimanyu," his grandfather challenged.

"If I say yes to marriage, will you all believe me?"

"Then fine, it’s a yes from my side," Abhimanyu declared. "Now, I’m going to the office."

His grandfather watched him leave, thinking to himself, Hum jaante hai beta, tum atit ko nahi bhool paa rahe ho...

Meanwhile, his younger siblings were celebrating. "Bhaiya said yes to marriage!" they cheered.

"Look how happy they are," his grandmother said. "But have you even found a girl yet?"

His grandfather smirked. "I already found the perfect girl. I know she’ll be the best for our Abhimanyu."

"Aviral, Sita, came to my room. We need to discuss something," he added.
