Flashback 21 years ago started,
The lifeless body of Abhimanyu’s mother lay in his arms, her warmth slowly fading, yet he refused to believe it. His small hands trembled as he gently shook her, desperation filling his tear-streaked face.
“Maa, uthiye na… Maa, please wake up,” he sobbed, his voice breaking with each word. He nudged her again, his innocent heart clinging to the hope that she would open her eyes, smile at him, and tell him everything was okay.
But silence was the only answer he received.
A pair of strong arms suddenly wrapped around him, pulling him away from his mother’s still form. Abhimanyu thrashed in protest, his cries turning into heart-wrenching wails.
“No! Leave me! Maa will wake up! She has to wake up!”
His grandfather held him firmly, his own eyes glistening with sorrow. He knelt before the boy, his voice thick with emotion as he whispered, “Beta, she’s not going to wake up… She’s in a deep sleep now.”
Abhimanyu’s struggling weakened. His small chest heaved with sobs as his gaze flickered to his father. The man stood motionless, his usually strong presence diminished by the unbearable weight of grief. Tears welled in his eyes, but he did not speak a single word.
For the first time, Abhimanyu saw his father—not as the unshakable figure he had always known—but as a broken man who had just lost the love of his life.
The room felt unbearably heavy, as if sorrow itself had taken form and wrapped its cold arms around them all. The world that once seemed safe and warm now felt empty, cruel, and dark.
And in that moment, something inside Abhimanyu changed forever.
