Author's POV,
Abhimanyu sat in his office, his focus entirely absorbed in the pile of documents in front of him. His sharp, calculating eyes moved swiftly over the papers, his pen gliding smoothly across the surface as he signed one after another. The rhythmic tapping of his fingers against the desk was the only sound in the otherwise silent cabin. His employees knew better than to disturb him during these hours Abhimanyu Raghuvanshi was a man of discipline, and he expected the same from those around him.
However, there was one person who never followed the rules, one man who had the audacity to barge into his office without knocking, without an appointment, and without a care in the world.
Akash.
Without hesitation, Akash walked straight toward Abhimanyu's chair and plopped down beside him with a carefree grin.
Abhimanyu paused, arching an eyebrow at his best friend. "Is there any special reason for your visit, or did you just come to distract me?"
Akash smirked, leaning back in his seat. "Do I need a reason to meet my best friend?"
Abhimanyu sighed, shaking his head with a small, amused smile. "Of course not. But you don’t usually come to my office in the middle of the day without a reason, so tell me, what is it?"
Akash crossed his arms over his chest, feigning innocence. "I just need a little favor."
Abhimanyu narrowed his eyes. "What kind of favor?"
Akash extended his hand toward him. "Give me your wallet."
Abhimanyu frowned, confused. "Why would I give you my wallet? You earn well enough to afford anything you want."
Akash rolled his eyes. "I forgot my card at home. It would be a pleasure if my dear best friend could help me out. Just hand over your American Express card, will you?"
Abhimanyu exhaled in mild irritation but reached into his pocket, pulling out his sleek black wallet. As he flipped it open to retrieve the card, something caught Akash’s attention.
A photograph.
Neatly tucked into the transparent slot at the front of the wallet was a picture of Anika.
Akash's lips curled into a mischievous grin as he leaned closer, taking a good look at the photo before glancing at Abhimanyu. "Toh baat yaha tak pahunch chuki hai?" He teased, his tone laced with amusement. "Raja sahab ab apni patni ki photo leke ghumne lage hain?"
Abhimanyu stiffened, his fingers momentarily pausing as he handed over the card. He didn't respond immediately. Instead, his gaze drifted back to the photograph of Anika, and for a brief moment, his otherwise composed expression softened.
There was something in his eyes something rare, something almost sacred.
Love.
Deep, unwavering, undeniable love.
Akash noticed it, and his smirk widened. "Acha sun, baat yaha tak pahunch chuki hai toh bata, kiss hua hai ya nahi?"
