Gary, sensing the storm brewing in Amanda's eyes, hurriedly tried to soothe her ruffled feathers. "Now, now, Amanda, don't be upset! You and a few other campers will be playing Adriana's Pilgrim friends! Think of it as a chance for teamwork!" He smiled wide, clearly oblivious to the daggers Amanda was shooting his way.

But Amanda crossed her arms, her irritation palpable. "Yeah, sure, teamwork. As if being an extra in this ridiculous play is any consolation for not getting the lead role!" She huffed, her voice laced with frustration.

Gary seemed unfazed, continuing with his enthusiastic monologue, but Becky jumped in, her tone suddenly turning more serious. "Remember, not everyone here is privileged, Gary. We need to make this a truly inclusive experience." She glanced around the gathering and began to name off the outcasts of the camp, her voice rising above the chatter. "Like Pugsley and Joel. They're just as important to this play as anyone else!"

The campers murmured in agreement, and Pugsley perked up, looking proud yet confused. "What do you mean we're outcasts?" he asked innocently, tilting his head to the side.

Becky continued, her gaze firm yet compassionate. "We're including everyone! It wouldn't be fair to leave anyone out, especially if we want to accurately portray the Thanksgiving feast." She smiled at Pugsley and Joel, who were now exchanging wide-eyed looks, both excited and apprehensive.

"And I've chosen Wednesday to lead the group of red Indians that are invited to the Thanksgiving dinner," Becky added her tone like a bell ringing through the crowd.

A chorus of surprised gasps followed, and Wednesday merely raised an eyebrow, unimpressed by the sudden spotlight. "Red Indians? Really? We're trying to be politically correct here, aren't we?" he replied, deadpan, causing a ripple of laughter among the campers.

Adriana couldn't help but giggle at the absurdity of it all. "Are you sure about that, Becky? You might need a history lesson." She smirked, her gaze shifting to Wednesday, who wore a familiar look of nonchalance.

Gary cleared his throat, trying to regain control of the situation. "Right, right, let's keep it fun! Wednesday, you'll guide them to create an impressive performance. Let's channel that dark charisma of yours into something amazing!"

Wednesday leaned back slightly, crossing his arms as he observed the crowd. "I don't know if 'impressive' is the word I'd use. But I suppose I can teach them how to be appropriately... intimidating."

"Great! Let's get started then!" Gary clapped his hands together, eager to move on. "We need to organize the cast, discuss lines, and—"

As the meeting continued, Adriana leaned closer to Wednesday, whispering, "So, you're the leader of the outcasts now? Sounds like you're making quite the reputation."

Wednesday turned his gaze toward her, his expression unreadable. "Perhaps. Or maybe I'll just turn this into an opportunity for rebellion. A little chaos never hurt anyone, right?"

Adriana's mind raced as the campers erupted into excited chatter, most of them clearly enjoying the unfolding drama. She shot a glance at Wednesday, who was suppressing a smirk. "What do you think? Should I also give it my all or just sabotage the performance?" she whispered, a playful grin on her lips.

Wednesday arched an eyebrow, his dark gaze steady on her. "You should definitely go all out. But don't forget to incorporate your usual... flair. It wouldn't be a true Adriana performance without it," he replied, a hint of amusement lurking beneath his stoic facade.

With that encouragement, Adriana felt a surge of confidence. She stood up straighter, flipping her hair over her shoulder with exaggerated confidence. "Alright, campers! Prepare yourselves for the most dramatic portrayal of a Pilgrim you've ever seen!"

The laughter that erupted around her only fueled her determination. As she caught Amanda's glare, she couldn't help but feel a rush of exhilaration. If she was going to be Sarah Millar, she would do it in a way that no one would forget.

And as she settled back onto Wednesday's lap, she glanced at him with a mischievous smile. "Just wait until you see my costume, Eddie. It's going to be a real showstopper."

Wednesday merely shrugged, an amused smirk creeping onto his lips. "I look forward to your interpretation of history."

Adriana suddenly felt bold and cupped Wednesday's face in her hands, pulling him down slightly to meet her gaze. Wednesday smirked at her unexpected action and said, "Pretty sure enemies don't kiss, little miss pilgrim."

Adriana bit back her smile and didn't stop there. She closed the distance and pressed her lips against his in a soft yet electrifying kiss. For a moment, time stood still; the world around them faded into a mere whisper as they shared this fleeting moment of connection.

When they finally pulled apart, Wednesday's dark eyes glinted with surprise, and a touch of warmth broke through his usual cool demeanor. "Don't tempt me more, love," he remarked, with a hint of teasing in his voice.

Gary and Becky suddenly appeared at their side, their faces beaming with that trademark, unsettling enthusiasm. "Alright, Sarah Millar!" Gary called out, clapping his hands together like a conductor gearing up for a performance. "We need to get you ready for your role! No time to waste!"

Adriana shot a quick glance at Wednesday, her playful smile still lingering on her lips. But before she could say anything, Gary had grabbed her by the arm, pulling her away from Wednesday with surprising force. "Come on! We need to discuss your lines and costume. I have some great ideas in mind!"

Wednesday's expression darkened, a flicker of annoyance passing through his usually stoic demeanor. He didn't move to stop them, though. Instead, he simply watched as Adriana was whisked away, a disapproving frown on his face.

Adriana, however, seemed completely unfazed by the abrupt separation. With a playful grin, she turned back to Wednesday just before they rounded the corner. "See you later, Eddie!" she called out, her voice cheerful and teasing.
