this is going to be a little bit short, sorry.
Phil's POV (kinda)
"Jonathan you stand here, since you are right handed. Like me," Phil added fondly.
"Mia you stand over here, since you are left handed like your father, and - no - turn around, face Jonathan. Good."
Phil continued to set up the two kids while Dan looked on adoringly.
Once Phil had set up the battlers accordingly, and stepped back to let them size each other up.
"The rules are as following. Do not stray and do not break any single rule." Phil tried to look serious with a gym teacher-like whistle tied around his neck, but he was furiously trying to withhold his giggles.
"Rule one. If you ever lose possession of your sword," which were actually made of foam...for safety reasons, "then your opponent wins the duel. Rule two. There will be no fist to face contact, or fist to anything contact. Remember kids," he said using his best adult voice, "this is a sword fight and any other kinda of fighting will not be tolerated under my roof."
"But dad, we are outside...?" Mia asked rolling her eyes at Phil.
"Oh right, well you know what I mean." Phil responded huffing.
He proceeded to list of the rest of the rules. "And remember, there will be no hard feelings no matter who wins, or who loses. You will both be equally loved and nobody is better than your sibling. OK?"
Jonathan and Mia both nodded, fierce looks on their faces.
Phil got ready to blow his whistle, initiating the foam sword fight, until Dan yelled throw the kitchen window, "And just remember whoever loses will be kicked out of the family and will live the rest of their lives in shame!!"
A loud slap sounded around their pocket fence yard, as Phil slapped his amhand onto his forehead.
