Promises
"They said they promised,
Look at everything now,"
South is sad,
Bitter at the world,
Like I am,
Am I always miserable?
I thought I was happier,
Guess I was wrong
"We're human,
We can't always keep,
What we say we will,
I mean,
Look at what happened,
To my best friend,
Ex best friend"
He looks up,
And looks really peeved,
Like he wants to slash me,
With a lightsaber,
"I'm sick of this,
Sick of everyone,
Thinking their life is more important,
Than mine, than my feelings,
Because breaking a promise,
Is ok now,
It's ok to hurt others,
Why?"
His eyes are begging,
For closure,
For an answer,
That I'm not sure I can provide,
Because I'm only human too,
I can make a promise,
I can try my best,
But will I keep it?
Or will I be,
Just another,
Just another broken promise,
To hurt others,
Like they've hurt me,
Him,
Us
"It isn't,
It shouldn't be,
But people do,
And it sucks,
I'm sorry,
I'll be here,
Even if,
I can't always help,"
I offer a smile,
And he gives a small one in return,
Two broken and lost souls,
Will stay together,
Help each other,
If at all possible
"I promise you South."
"And I promise you Nova."
A promise made,
Will be a promise kept by me.
