Monday Mornings

Hello clock,

Will you shut up?

Six AM is a bit too early for me,

Snooze a bit longer...

Well you're just like,

A buzzing misquito,

Screaming in my ear,

"Get up! get up!"

You cry as I sleep,

Can't you just let it be?

Trudging to the bus stop,

Hair soaking wet,

iPod in my pocket,

Pointed fingers in my face,

Sneers on artifical masks

The ride is so long,

From street to street to school,

Can't get that chant out of my head,

Sitting in the back,

Staring into space,

Because a world without gravity,

Is better than this place

Slamming locker doors,

Loud screeching girls,

Gage laughing with his friends,

As he points at me and walks by,

I ignore it all,

But I know inside,

It isn't right,

But they don't care,

And it hurts so bad

I have no friends,

I have no life,

I am Nova the Nobody,

For a good reason indeed,

I talk when I need to,

But that's not often you see,

Because even the teachers,

Don't want to hear me speak,

So silence is the key,

But at least then I can get some sleep

What a pain Mondays are,

Waking up so early,

Just to go to school,

Learning what we know,

And what they think we'll need

Please speed up clock,

I want to be let out,

This cage of snakes,

Is no place for a mouse,

School is hard,

And so is life,

But you learn to deal with it,

Though a friend would help,

I have next to none

That stupid boy across the room,

Once was my friend,

Now he's my enemy,

But we still talk for some reason,

Jinx is still questionable,

But I guess she counts

So as I sit here in school,

Waiting for lunch,

I can't help but ask,

What has life become?
