Rudransh parked the car in front of Jiyaan’s house. The soft glow of the streetlights bathed the scene, and Mihitha unbuckled Nila from the backseat, her little one barely awake. Jiyaan opened the front door, a grin on his face as Rudransh stepped out, holding Nila’s hand.
"Here they come," Jiyaan teased, "the royal couple with the princess."
Rudransh smiled faintly, shaking his head. "Just keep an eye on her tonight, Jiyaan. She’s all yours."
Jiyaan ruffled Nila’s hair, grinning at her. "We’ll have the best time, don’t worry. You two enjoy your date."
With Nila safe in Jiyaan’s care, Rudransh returned to the car. As he settled back in the driver’s seat, he caught Mihitha’s gaze. Her eyes, filled with warmth, reflected the tenderness that had bloomed between them over the years.
"Ready for our night?" she asked softly, her hand finding his and intertwining their fingers.
Rudransh leaned over, pressing a soft kiss to her hand. "I’ve been waiting for this."
They arrived at the restaurant, the soft flicker of candles illuminating the intimate space. The ambiance was perfect quiet, private, and romantic. Mihitha looked radiant, the glow of the candlelight highlighting the softness of her features.
As they sat across from each other, Rudransh couldn’t take his eyes off her. There was a vulnerability in his gaze, something unspoken that hung between them. Mihitha noticed, a small smile tugging at her lips.
"What’s going on in that mind of yours?" she asked, leaning forward slightly.
Rudransh exhaled deeply, his thumb gently brushing over the top of her hand. "I’ve been thinking a lot about us... about everything."
Mihitha tilted her head, curiosity piqued by the depth in his voice. "Tell me."
He hesitated for a moment, his eyes softening as they met hers. "I don’t think I’ve ever really told you how much you’ve changed me," he began, his voice low. "Before you, I was so used to keeping my walls up, pretending like nothing could touch me. I had built this life where I thought control was everything."
Mihitha listened intently, her heart swelling with emotion. She knew Rudransh wasn’t the type to easily open up, and hearing him speak like this made her feel closer to him than ever.
"But then you came into my life," he continued, his voice thick with emotion. "And I realized I didn’t need control. I needed you. You taught me what love really means how to feel, how to be vulnerable. You made me a better man, Mihitha."
Tears welled up in Mihitha’s eyes, but she quickly blinked them away, not wanting to break the moment. She reached across the table, her fingers brushing his cheek. "You’ve always had that in you, Rudransh. I just showed you a part of yourself you hadn’t seen yet."
He chuckled softly, shaking his head. "No, you saved me, Mihitha. From myself, from the darkness I thought I had to live in. You gave me a reason to change."
Her heart clenched at the sincerity in his voice. She had always known that Rudransh carried a weight with him, a past he rarely spoke of, but tonight, it felt like he was finally letting her see the deepest part of him.
"I love you, Rudransh," she whispered, her voice breaking slightly. "With everything I have."
He closed his eyes for a moment, as if absorbing her words, before opening them again, his gaze locking onto hers. "I love you too," he said, his voice raw and unguarded. "More than I’ve ever loved anything in my life. You... and Nila, you’re my world."
Mihitha felt a tear slip down her cheek, but this time, she didn’t brush it away. The intensity of his words, the way he looked at her it was overwhelming, but in the best possible way.
Rudransh stood up suddenly, moving around the table to sit beside her. He cupped her face in his hands, his thumb gently wiping away her tears. "You mean everything to me," he whispered, his voice trembling slightly. "I don’t ever want to lose you."
She smiled through her tears, her heart full. "You won’t. I’m right here, Rudransh. Always."
He pulled her into a deep, slow kiss, one that was filled with every emotion they had shared over the years. It wasn’t just a kiss it was a promise. A promise of love, of devotion, of forever.

The night wore on, and after a few more shared glances, quiet conversations, and stolen kisses, they found themselves alone in the elevator, heading down to the parking garage. The tension between them had been building all night, and now, in the small confines of the elevator, it reached its peak.
Rudransh couldn’t keep his hands off her. As soon as the doors closed, he pulled her close, his lips crashing against hers in a kiss that was both urgent and tender. His hands roamed her back, pulling her flush against him as their bodies melded together.
Mihitha’s breath hitched as she kissed him back, her fingers threading through his hair. There was a fire between them, a spark that had always been there, but tonight it burned brighter than ever.
Rudransh broke the kiss just long enough to press his forehead against hers, his breathing ragged. "I can’t get enough of you," he whispered, his voice thick with desire.
Mihitha smiled, her lips brushing against his. "You’ll have all of me, always," she whispered back, her heart pounding in her chest.
The elevator dinged open, and they reluctantly pulled apart, both of them breathless and flushed. Rudransh grinned, his hand still on the small of her back as they stepped out into the cool night air.
As they walked back to the car, Rudransh suddenly stopped, pulling her into his arms again. His eyes bore into hers, and for a moment, everything else fell away. It was just the two of them, standing under the stars, with the weight of everything they had been through and everything they still had to face.
"I need you to know something," he said quietly, his voice filled with emotion. "You are the best thing that ever happened to me, Mihitha. I don’t say it enough, but you are. You’re my heart, my soul, my everything."
Mihitha felt tears welling up in her eyes again, but she didn’t care. She reached up and cupped his face, her thumb gently brushing over his cheek. "And you are mine," she whispered, her voice thick with love. "You always will be."
They stood there for what felt like an eternity, wrapped in each other’s arms, the world around them disappearing as they lost themselves in the love they had found together.
