Namjoon was shocked to hear Jungkook’s words. He shook his head and gently cupped Jungkook's cheek,“Of course not. We could never hate you. why are you thinking like this?”Jungkook sniffled, wiping his tear-streaked face with the back of his hand and said “I thought… after everything I did… maybe you all didn’t want me anymore.” And as I am not your biological brother why you want me around he thought looking away.
Namjoon felt bad at Jungkook’s words. “Kook,” he began, his tone earnest. “You’re our brother, and nothing will ever change that. Yes, you made a mistake, but that doesn’t mean we hate you. We’re just trying to help you learn from it.”
Even if I am not your own brother ? He thought.
“But I hurt Jimin and Taehyung hyung."He murmured, feeling guilty.
Namjoon gently lifted Jungkook’s chin, forcing him to look into his eyes again “Yes, you did hurt them, and you were punished for that. But you promised you wouldn’t hurt them again, right?” Jungkook nodded. “So that’s what matters,” Namjoon continued. “If you apologize to Jimin and Taehyung, they will forgive you, and everything will be normal again. Just don't overthink about it.”
“But… but I’m bad,” Jungkook said, his voice trembling.
“No, Kook, you’re a very good boy. It’s your actions we need to address, not you as a person. You’re still the same Jungkook we love. We just want you to understand that your actions have consequences, and that’s part of growing up.”
Do hyung really mean it ? Do the hyungs really love me? Or are they just pretending? Or Are they doing all this out of empathy? This question echoed in Jungkook's mind making him feel confused and unsure.
“Jungkook?” Namjoon’s voice pulled him from his thoughts. “Hey, Kook. Are you with me?”
Jungkook blinked, realizing he had been staring blankly at the floor. He focused on Namjoon’s concerned eyes and said “Yes,I am here, hyung.”
“Good. I was thinking we should go downstairs. Everyone is waiting for us.” Namjoon said smiling.
Jungkook hesitated as the thought of facing Jimin and Taehyung after everything that had happened scared him. What if they didn’t want to forgive him? What if they were still mad? What they don't want him in their family anymore ? What the will asked him to go from their hous ? But Namjoon’s comforting gaze gave him a little bit of courage ,So he decided to go down.
“Okay,” Jungkook finally said.
As they walked downstairs, Jungkook felt a knot tightening in his stomach. The voices of his brothers grew louder as they neared the living room.
Namjoon stood behind Jungkook holding his arms and gently guiding him forward. Yoongi noticed them and glanced at Namjoon, who nodded reassuringly, silently conveying that everything was fine.
Jin and Hoseok were busy setting the table for dinner, so they didn’t notice Namjoon and Jungkook’s arrival. But Jimin and Taehyung, who had been sitting on the couch, stopped their conversation and looked at Jungkook. The youngest avoided looking at them, keeping his head down, but he could still feel their eyes on him. He bit his lip, the nervous feeling in his stomach growing stronger.
"Oh, you guys are here!" Hoseok said who had just finished setting the table and noticed them.
Jin too looked "Yeah, Kook. Come on, it's all ready. We made your favorite meal."
Jungkook hesitated, his eyes flickering nervously between Jimin, Taehyung, and the others.
‘Hyung…’ Jungkook finally said which caused everyone to turned toward him.
