After a chaotic morning filled with teasing and bickering, we leave for the temple. Rajveer, Rahil, Sanvi, Parth, and I get into the car to head to the temple. I'm driving, lost in my thoughts.
After we park and get out, the air is filled with the smell of incense and flowers. I feel a sense of calm, a nice change from the morning's chaos. The energy of the temple feels welcoming as we walk toward the entrance, ready to connect with our roots and seek blessings for the future.
As we reach the Birla Temple in Jaipur, I feel a wave of nostalgia. This temple is important to us; our ancestors used to visit here before starting anything new. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here.
I look around as we arrive, noticing the beautiful white marble structure shining in the sunlight, surrounded by green gardens and the soft sounds of people praying. Each detail reminds me of family gatherings and moments of reflection. I can almost hear our laughter from past visits.
Pandit ji tells me to bathe in the pond before we start the puja. I quickly take a refreshing dip and come out feeling clean.
As I walk out of the water, Rahil teases me, “Wow, you’ve built your body, but what’s the point if no one’s here to see it?”
Rajveer laughs and adds, “With the way he talks, he probably won’t find anyone anyway.” I roll my eyes and shake my head at them. This teasing has become a daily routine, and I’m used to it by now.
I respond, “No cars for you for one week,” without looking at Rahil. I wrap myself in a white dhoti and head over to where everyone is gathered for the puja.
“What? No way! I’m really sorry, I won’t joke anymore!” he says, chasing after me like a lost puppy. I ignore him and sit in the spot where Pandit ji has asked me to sit, ready to continue with the rituals.
As the puja continues, the atmosphere is silent, allowing me to hear the soft rustle of leaves. After a while, I notice the faint sound of ornaments, like someone is approaching. I turn my head to see who it is, and I catch a glimpse of a girl in a white suit, but her back is facing me. There’s something familiar about her, a sense that I’ve seen her before.
As I ponder where I might have encountered her, she starts to walk away in the opposite direction. I feel a strong urge to go after her, to see her face and uncover the mystery of my recognition.
“Surya beta, udhar kya dekh rahe ho? Idhar dhyaan do!” my mother’s voice breaks through my thoughts, pulling me back to the present. I shake off the image of the girl and refocus on the rituals taking place around me.
The incense fills the air with a calming scent, and I try to concentrate on the prayers and the significance of this moment. My family surrounds me, their faces serene as they engage in the traditional practices. I glance around, but my mind keeps drifting back to the girl in white. Who is she? Why does she feel so familiar?
I remind myself that this puja is important, a time for devotion and connection with the divine. But the mystery of the girl lingers at the edge of my mind, creating a distraction that I can’t shake off. I focus on the offerings, the chants, and the warmth of my family beside me, yet a part of me longs to discover the identity of the girl who has captured my thoughts.
Time Skip ~
After finishing the puja, my phone rings. It’s Vansh calling to discuss the new deal with Mr. Mathur. Just as we dive into the details, dark clouds roll in, and suddenly it starts to rain. I rush toward the nearest shelter, trying to avoid getting soaked.
“I’ll call you later, Vansh,” I say before hanging up.
Once under the shelter, I shake my head to get rid of the water droplets clinging to my hair and face. I wipe my hands over my clothes, trying to remove the excess moisture.
I feel my breath hitch for a moment as I see her again. It’s the same girl I spotted in Mumbai just two days ago.She is the same girl in the white kurti I saw a few hours ago during the puja. Now I understand why she feels so familiar to me.
I can’t help but smile as I watch her. She’s standing in the rain, laughing and twirling, completely lost in the moment.
Her hair cascades down her waist, dark and slightly wavy, catching the light and glistening in the rain. Each strand seems to dance with the wind, framing her face beautifully. As she twirls, droplets of water glisten like tiny diamonds, enhancing the softness of her features.
Her eyes are striking large and expressive, they sparkle with joy and mischief. The way they reflect the light makes them seem almost alive, drawing me in. I can’t help but notice the long lashes that flutter with every blink, adding an air of innocence to her enchanting gaze.
Her brows are perfectly shaped, adding a touch of elegance to her face. They arch gently, conveying a range of emotions that shift with her playful demeanor. When she smiles, the corners of her lips lift, and it feels as if the world brightens around her.
Her hands are delicate, with slender fingers that reach out to catch the rain. They move gracefully, showing her playful spirit as she splashes water with delight. Each gesture feels intentional, like she’s inviting the world to join her in this moment of joy.
Everything about her is so captivating the way she carries herself, the lightness in her movements, and the genuine happiness radiating from her. In this moment, under the rain, she feels like a vision of beauty, and I’m utterly mesmerized.
“I FOUND YOU AGAIN" I whisper to myself, a smile spreading across my face. I feel drawn to her, enchanted by her beauty and the way she embraces the rain.
As I take a step closer, I notice how the droplets glisten on her skin, enhancing her charm. My heart races with excitement.
I take out my phone and start to click her picture, wanting to capture this moment before she disappears again. I need something to help me find her. I don’t know what it is, but I feel a strong urge to hold onto her, something I never want to lose.
As I snap her picture in the rain, I suddenly feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around and see it's Rahil, a mischievous smirk spreading across his face. Instantly, I know I’m in trouble.
