Fiction 8: BAWAT DAAN

Dedicated to Chiana:>

•••••

"Amando! Amando!" Aurora's cheerful voice rang out as she ran towards Amando, who was busy watering the vibrant flowers in the estate's garden. He immediately turned, pausing his task, a smile spreading across his face at the sight of her.

"Is it true na pumayag ang Daddy na pag-aralin ka?" her words tumbled out in excitement, her eyes sparkling with joy.

"Oo. Nakita niya kasi kung gaano kaganda 'yung mga portrait na ginawa ko. Sayang daw kung hindi ko pa paghuhusayan kaya binigyan niya ako ng scholarship." Amando replied.

"Wow! I told you, Amando! Dad would love your works. Konting-tiis na lang and I would introduce you to him." She intertwined their hands and rested her head on his shoulder, feeling a warmth that only he could provide.

"Sinabi ko naman sa'yo. Gagawin ko lahat para maging karapat-dapat ako sa'yo. Pag-iigihan ko para maging magkapantay na tayo." he said, pressing a gentle kiss on her forehead.

"Let's do our best for each other, okay?"

"Para sa future nating dalawa, para sa'yo at siyempre para sa mga anak natin." Amando declared, his gaze filled with hope. Aurora chuckled softly.

"Anak? Amando, we're still in our 20s—"

"Kaya nga sa future mangyayari. Hindi naman kita minamadali. Kung kailan ka handa bigyan ako ng dalawang dosenang anak— Aray ko! Bakit mo 'ko kinurot?!" Amando laughed lightly, rubbing his neck where she had playfully poked him.

"Dalawang dosenang anak? Seryoso ka?! Kaya ko ba 'yun?" she exclaimed, her mind racing with scenarios of chaotic family life and sleepless nights. Just as the anxiety began to occupy her mind, she heard a soft chuckle from Amando,

"Relax ka lang, Mahal ko. Matagal pa 'yun, sa ngayon ang isipin mo ay kung paano mo tatapusin ang sandamakmak na paperworks mo."  he encouraged, a reassuring smile lighting up his face.

Aurora sighed, running a hand through her hair. "Right. I'm still an Intern in our own company! Nakakainis, hindi ba pwedeng maging boss agad ako? Para ako naman ang mag-uutos!"

"Huwag kang mag-alala. Kapag naging CEO ka na at napasa na sa'yo ang buong property ng Palacios' Estate, ako ang magiging loyal utusan mo."

Aurora couldn't help but laugh softly at his joke. "Utusan? Don't say that! I'd rather want you to be my husband."

Weeks had passed and they had shared countless memories under the golden sun and the silver moonlight, their laughter echoing through the streets. Their bond deepened, and they became inseparable, discovering the beauty of love in the simplest moments—a stolen glance, a shared secret, and dreams whispered into the night.

"Dream country? Uhm... Switzerland!" Aurora replied joyfully, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"Sige, pupuntahan natin 'yan."

"Mahal, just look at those beautiful stars..." Aurora pointed the clear nightsky above them as they lay on a soft white blanket spread across the grassy field. "They're so beautiful..."

Amando turned to Aurora, his eyes filled with admiration. "Ikaw ang pinakamagandang bituin sa mga mata ko."

"That is so corny, Amando." Aurora laughed softly, but her heart fluttered at his words.

She was about to tease him more when Amando shifted closer, helping himself up on his elbow so he could face her. He intertwined their fingers and, with a playful flourish, he kissed her hand before locking eyes with her.
