Y/n POV

I woke up. I tried to open my eyes, but the bright light made it impossible. "Beep. Beep," I heard a very loud repeating sound of some machine.

I finally forced myself to open my eyes. I blinked a few times getting used to the bright light. I was no longer in the tent, or even at home. I was lying in a hospital bed.

What happened? How did I end up here?

After a while, I remembered the events of last night.

I started to feel a familiar scratching sensation on my nose, so I moved my hand towards it to adjust my glasses. I was surprised because I didn't have them on, but I saw everything normal. I blinked a few times to make sure I was right, and yes, I could see just fine without glasses. I looked towards the hand where the widow had bitten me, but I didn't notice anything. No holes, no redness, nothing. I was surprised because such a wound should take at least a few days to heal.

Wait, how long have I been lying here?

At that moment the doctor entered the room and noticed that I had woken up.

"How are you feeling? Should I call your mother? She's been waiting in the hallway for two days for you to wake up."

"I feel fine," I replied.

Even better than fine, I added in my mind

"And yes, you can call her," I added.

The doctor came out and called my mother.

So I spent two days here. It's not enough time for the wound to heal like this. Plus this change of sight and this cardiometer sounds louder than usual. There's something wrong with me.

"You have ten minutes, then we're taking the boy for tests," Doctor said leaving.

My mother quickly came to me and hugged me.

"What happened to you?" She asked and sat down opposite me.

"I heard that Michał found you unconscious in the forest. The doctor said that you were poisoned with hemolytic and neurotoxic venom," she said worried but also obviously happy that I had finally woken up.

"Honestly, I only remember fragments of that night. I was in the forest. I got scared of something. I started running away. I think I fell, I only saw darkness, and then... then I don't remember," I lied, feeling that I first had to find out where these changes in me came from.

The woman looked at my face strangely and then started looking around the room. Her eyes fell on the cabinet under the window stand where my glasses were lying. She wanted to get up, but I anticipated her move, grabbed her hand and stopped her. She looked at me surprised.

"I don't need them," I told her.

"Ah... but how? You have a serious vision defect," mother said, surprised.

"I know, but I can see everything clearly. I don't need them right now."

"Are you feeling okay? Are you not feeling dizzy? Don't you have a fever?" She placed her hand on my forehead."You are warm. Wait, I'll call the doctor," she wanted to get up, but I stopped her again.

"Mom, stop it. Everything is fine, I feel fine. Maybe it's because of the neurotoxin poison? After all, it affects the human nervous system, so it could have had a strange

effect on me?" I came up with some random clever hypothesis for changing my eyesight.

"Maybe," She replied, obviously not really aware of what I was talking about.
