The cold sweats on Stephanie's forehead were pouring down her face, her mouth was dry as she stared at the words on the small paper note, she breathed a heavy sigh and concentrated on the reality of what it could have been she smiled and laughed a very nervous laugh with a small side smile "Stacy your really funny" she shouted looking up at the stairs, she looked again and knew it wasn't Stacy it was not her writing but it had to be, no one else was in the cabin just her and her sister, it couldn't be Rubin he's just a child plus he's dead so there's no way it could have been him. Stephanie heard the footsteps coming down the stairs and the mumbling of her sister's voice of irritation that she had been woken up, she watched her sister come down the stairs in slow slumped footsteps "What?" she hissed as she rubbed her tired eyes with her fisted palm, she blinked a few times before she stood straight and repeated her question "what Steph?" this time Stacy did smile but not without sitting on the kitchen chair rubbing her eyes once again, Stephanie just passed her the note before she said "very funny" she sat in the opposite chair when she saw the confusion on Stacy's face, her eyebrow arched as she nibbled her bottom lip, she quickly grabbed the note and looked at it for a moment before she asked "Where did you find this?" Stephanie heart began to beat quickly, it wasn't her sister? then who the hell was it? "On the kitchen fridge, didn't you Write it?" the worried look in Stacy's eyes. started to send panic to Stephanie and she had to try very hard to compose herself for the sake of not getting herself committed so she just sat down stared at Stacy for a while for an answer but Stacy didn't answer instead she just bit her lip and stared at the note so instead Stephanie asked once again "Stacy your scaring me, did you write it or not" Stacy looked over from the note then looked Stephanie in the eyes, "No I didn't." she held her sisters hand very gently rubbing the thumb with her finger for comfort, the gesture was sweet but it did not help with the panic that was creeping up Stephanie chest. Stacey continued to look at her sister hiding her own fear as she continued to rub her finger along Stephanie hand "Look Stephanie something is not right here, there has been so many murders in this cabin and I think it's some sort of killer targeting people that stay here" she breathed in a good amount of air, letting it out in a sigh then continued "I think we might be next" her voice was serious as she looked in those big blue eyes of hers that was filled with anxiety and nervousness. Stephanie nodded her head then quickly spoke "I agree. We need to go to the police" Stephanie held the other hand waiting for a response, she could feel her blood pressure rise, and her heart beat becoming faster, she was very scared and not just that but Rubin knew someone was in her home a second before she went in there and she desperately wanted to tell her about the orphan child but she couldn't, for her own sake and Stacy so she just bit into her cheeks and just kept it to herself "We can't, we have no proof" this annoyed Stephanie to the bone, how could her sister not go to the police, it was the most logical thing to do in a situation like this. Stephanie pulled her hands away and stood up raising her voice just a little. "We just got a note that's threatened to kill us. How is that not proof" she started to pace the floor of her kitchen when she heard Stacy stand and come behind her putting a hand on her shoulder "Look if you want to go to the police then go but I don't think it will do any good" her voice was sweet and calm but Stephanie could still hear the patronizing tone. The note was more then enough it was not just proof that someone threatened them but it was also proof that some one broke in "Stacey it shows someone came in here, its proof a threat they have to do something" Stacey shook her head and placed a hand on Stephanie shoulder just enough that it stopped her from pacing along the floor "I wish it did but for all they know we written the note. It won't be enough" Stephanie stood back anger filling her blood as it boiled within her "You just don't want to go because your scared" Stacey arched her eyebrows and then narrowed her eyes "You know what Steph do what the hell you want" Stacey turned her back and began to stamp her feet up the stairs but not before she stopped half way up "You never listen to me anyways so do what you want" she snapped before climbing the rest of the stairs. Not long after a slam of the door echoed throughout the cabin as Stephanie sat down on the floor in front of the porch windows watching the lake as tears started to stream down her face. She quickly wiped them and stood up climbing the stairs herself heading to her room. She was going to do what she wanted and not listen to no one else. She was not a little girl anymore or a grieving daughter she was going to be a survivor.
