Wei Wuxian's P.O.V

I woke up at 6 a.m. to an empty space beside me. I found myself wondering where Lan Zhan might be. After a moment, I decided to shrug it off and get up to change into a white robe, as tradition in the Gusu Clan prohibits wearing red or black. The attire often felt reminiscent of attending a funeral, given our palette of only white and blue.

After getting dressed, I stepped out to search for the juniors. Fortunately, I spotted Sizhui in the library, seemingly engrossed in his work. Wanting to lighten the mood, I planned to surprise him but then overheard him murmuring something, which piqued my curiosity, prompting me to listen in.

I noticed him speaking to Jingyi, expressing a sense of urgency. "We won't do it again. We almost got scolded by Hanguang Jun for what we did last night," Sizhui reminded Jingyi.

This exchange hinted that there might have been some misunderstanding regarding Hanguang Jun's previous warnings.

Unable to contain my curiosity, I approached their table. They appeared startled and quickly bowed in unison.

"Senior Wei!" they exclaimed.

"Enough with the formalities—tell me what Hanguang Jun said," I urged, my impatience evident.

They exchanged apprehensive glances, and I could sense the tension in the air.

**Lan Sizhui's Perspective**

Caught by Senior Wei yet again, I felt a wave of anxiety wash over me. I knew I had to think quickly to navigate this situation without revealing too much about Hanguang Jun's plans.

Kneeling, I readied myself to speak. "Senior Wei, Hanguang Jun asked us to keep this a secret about Master Jiang. He is to marry someone at Lotus Pier. I believe there was a misunderstanding last night, and we sincerely apologize."

I rose and bowed, glancing at Senior Wei, who looked taken aback. Jingyi discreetly mouthed "Good job" to me, and I couldn't help but smile a little.

**Wei Wuxian's Perspective**

So that's why Jiang Cheng seemed distant; he's set to marry someone else. I had thought I would be the first to get married between us. Clearly, I misunderstood Lan Zhan last night.

"Oh, that makes sense. I'll head out since I need to find Hanguang Jun. Where is he?" I asked.

"Senior Wei, he's at the cold spring," they replied. I thanked them and made my way toward Lan Zhan.

**Lan Sizhui's Perspective**

"That was close," Jingyi said, giving me a light pat on the back.

"We need to be more careful," I warned him, and he nodded in agreement. We decided to start our day with a hearty breakfast.

**Wei Wuxian's Perspective**

When I reached the cold spring, I was relieved to see Lan Zhan sitting calmly behind a rock. His presence was captivating, and I couldn't help but admire him. Moments later, he noticed me, quickly donning his robe and walking over with a gentle smile.

"Wei Ying," he greeted, and I returned his smile.

"Good morning, Lan Zhan!" I replied cheerfully.

We strolled through the garden until Lan Zhan suddenly paused. "Is something wrong?" I asked genuine concern in my voice. He shook his head and took my hand gently, and my heart skipped a beat.

"Let's have dinner at Lotus Pier later," he suggested. My mind raced—how could we possibly reach Lotus Pier in such a short time?

I chuckled. "Lan Zhan, it's impossible to arrive there later."

"I have my ways," he said matter-of-factly, a hint of mischief in his eyes.

"Get dressed; we're heading out for a bit," he instructed with a smile, guiding me toward our room. I asked where he would change, and he replied, "In the other room. You can use mine; there's already a robe waiting for you."

Upon opening the door, I found a white robe inside and felt a touch of amusement at the coincidence.

I decided to change my hairstyle, swapping my red ribbon for a white one. As I admired my reflection in the mirror, I was pleased with how the ensemble came together, feeling quite dapper in my elegant attire.

I hurriedly left our room in search of Lan Zhan, and when I found him, I was momentarily taken aback by how incredibly handsome he looked at that moment. He always has a certain charm, but today it felt particularly striking.

Lost in my thoughts, I didn't realize he was repeatedly calling my name until he finally snapped me back to reality.

"Wei Ying, are you okay?" he asked, concern evident in his voice. I quickly composed myself and replied, "Yes, I'm okay—don't mind me, hahaha!" I felt a rush of embarrassment and instinctively hid my face.

"Mn," he responded simply, before filling me in on the plans for the day. "The juniors will be joining us since Jin Ling wanted to meet with them." I nodded, agreeing completely, as I was also looking forward to spending time with the juniors.

We find ourselves in the boat alongside the juniors, who have been unusually quiet, likely intimidated by the presence of their esteemed Hanguang Jun.

"Master Wei, you look particularly handsome today," Sizhui remarked, and I couldn't help but smile and express my gratitude.

Meanwhile, I noticed Lan Zhan fidgeting with his fingers, which piqued my curiosity about his unusual behavior. I recalled recent conversations with Sizhui and Jingyi that might shed some light.

"Lan Zhan, is it true that Jiang Cheng is planning to marry someone at Lotus Pier?" I asked, eager for confirmation. Lan Zhan quickly choked on his surprise and turned his gaze towards me.

"Where did you hear that?" he inquired, an edge of impatience in his tone. I raised my eyebrows in response.

"I heard it from Sizhui." As soon as I spoke, I noticed Lan Zhan glance toward Sizhui and Jingyi, who both averted their eyes, seemingly trying to avoid his probing gaze.

Lan Zhan sighed and looked at me seriously. "Wei Ying, when we arrive, please try to avoid bringing up anything with Jiang Cheng for now. He's not ready to share certain things," he advised, and I couldn't help but frown a little in response.

"Why not?" I asked, genuinely curious. Lan Zhan offered a gentle smile and gave my head a reassuring pat.

I felt my cheeks warm but tried to maintain my composure. "It's just that he needs some time before he's ready to talk about it," he explained patiently.
