Lan Sizhui's P.O.V

I lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling, unable to drift off into sleep. The familiar restlessness began to gnaw at me, so I decided to teleport myself to the pond nearby. The tranquil waters often eased my racing mind. As I materialized by the shimmering surface, a thought sparked in my mind: Do I have a crush on Jin Ling?

To my surprise and delight, when I arrived at the pond, I found Jin Ling already there. My heart raced at the sight of him, and instinctively, I tried to turn away, hoping to blend into the shadows. But before I could escape unnoticed, I felt his warm hand wrap around mine.

"A Sizhui, you're here!" he said with a bright smile that lit up his features, making my cheeks flush.

I bowed my head slightly, trying to compose myself. "Young Master Jin, I'm truly sorry for disturbing your evening. I just thought I might relax here for a bit." I attempted to step aside, but Jin Ling tightened his grip on my hand, preventing my retreat.

"Let's roam around together," he suggested, his voice inviting. I nodded, feeling a mix of honor and nervousness at his words.

As we strolled along the winding path by the pond, the tension between us was palpable. We walked in silence, each of us lost in our own thoughts, the stillness of the night filled with unsaid words.

Suddenly, he cleared his throat, breaking the silence. I turned to look at him, my heart beating erratically. "Is there something wrong?" I asked, curiosity creeping into my voice.

He hesitated, then reached into his pocket. To my astonishment, he pulled out a beautifully crafted hair clip that sparkled like moonlight on the water, adorned with intricate designs that were unmistakably of the Lan Clan style.

"This is for you," he said shyly, offering it to me with a nervous smile. I was taken aback, completely caught off guard by such a sweet gesture. I gingerly took it from his hand, my voice barely above a whisper as I murmured my thanks.

"But why are you giving this to me?" I inquired, still processing the significance of the gift.

"Because..." he stammered, his cheeks tinged with a hint of pink.

"Because... I like you?" Jin Ling confessed, his words tumbling out in a rush.

My heart skipped a beat, and I felt a surge of warmth flooding through me. "Like me?" I echoed, the shock evident in my voice.

"Mn," he replied, fidgeting with his hands, avoiding my gaze as if the admission had given him a new sense of vulnerability.

Just then, I noticed a flower in his other hand. He turned toward me, his expression earnest, and offered it with a shy smile. The tender gesture made my cheeks flush even deeper.

"You don't like me?" he asked, crossing his arms, a hint of insecurity in his tone.

"I like you," I confessed, the words pouring out in a rush as my heart raced with the weight of my admission.

I could see the flicker of relief in his eyes, but before he could react, I leaned in and planted a gentle peck on his cheek. It was a spontaneous decision that caught him off guard; I could see him nearly stumble back, but I instinctively caught him, our hands brushing against each other.

Before we could fully process what had just transpired, Sect Leader Nie appeared, his eyes wide and his fan nearly slipping from his mouth in surprise.

"Oh my! I have to tell this to Wei Ying!" he exclaimed, already dashing off in excitement to spread the news. I wanted to follow him, to catch up and clarify everything, but I couldn't leave Jin Ling standing there, vulnerable and stunned. Instead, I stayed right by his side, feeling a mix of exhilaration and anxiety as we both navigated this new chapter unfolding before us.

(At the end of the day. Huaisang didn't told Wei Ying because he tripped himself and caught by his bodyguards along the way.)
