The Resistance headquarters, The Void

I toss and turn in bed, I'm unable to sleep.
I decide to get up and go for a walk to try and quiet my brain. As I make my way out of the bunker, I can still see the faint glow of the fire we had started hours before. As I step outside I can get a better view of the blaze, I see Logan sitting beside it, but he wasn't alone, Laura was there too. I decide to cancel my late night nature walk and go sit beside them, just like old times. I begin to walk over, excited for the three of us to be together again, but then I watch Laura get up and walk back towards the bunker. She quickly turns around to face Logan, telling him he was always the wrong guy. Then continues back to the hideout. Laura and I begin to pass each other when she stops and turns on her heals.

"Y/n.." Laura begins.

I wasn't expecting her to say anything, I stopped dead in my tracks. It's been years since I've heard her voice, let alone hear her say my name. I turn around and face her. Unsure of what to say, I just stare.
Laura opens her mouth to speak but nothing comes out. She stares at me for a moment, thinking.

"I- I'm sorry..." Laura stammers.

Laura's eyes softened as she began to speak again,

"I'm sorry for leaving without telling you," she said, her voice filled with regret.

"Crossing the border was something I had to do, but I never meant to hurt you by disappearing like that. I hope you can understand and forgive me."

Her words hung in the air, and I could see the sincerity in her expression, making it clear how much she valued our connection despite the choices she had to make.
I look at her, taken aback by her apology. Unsure of what to say, we stand in silence. Laura nods her head and goes to walk away,

"Laura-" I choke out.

She turns back to me, hope and fear in her eyes. Both of us, unsure of what I'm about to say next. I look at her softly but full of pain.

"There hasn't been a day that has gone by where I haven't thought of you. Everyday I have wondered if you're safe. This whole space time continuum, multiverse bullshit doesn't matter. Every. Single. Day. I've thought about you. You were my daughter too." I say teary eyed as I look at Laura.

"I love you Laur..I'm just happy you're ok." I look at her through blurry vision. The next thing I know I feel arms around my waist.

"I love you too..." Laura mumbles into me.

I push her back to get a look at her. She's beautiful. If only Logan, our Logan, could see her now. I give her a kiss on the head and send her off back to the hideout. I continue my way over to Logan, and sit down next to him. He looks at me, and at the same time I look at him. He's been crying...we've both been crying. I watch as he nods his head with a silent understanding.

"What's wrong with you?" He grumbles.

He looks into the flames and taking a drink of what's left in his bottle. He's drunk, but when is he not?

"Oh just...family..stuff." I mutter out. "You?" I ask, looking at his glossy eyes.

"Yea...something like that." He says taking another sip.

I can't help but wonder what Laura told him. Did she tell him who she was? Who I am? I stare at him trying to get any sort of read from him, but he's stone.

"...If you don't mind me asking...What were you and Laura talking about?" I ask hesitantly.

I watch as Logan stares into the fire, thinking about something. I watch as his eyes get glossier.
