Y/N's life was about as average as one could expect. She worked a decent job, lived in a small but cozy apartment, and had the usual small circle of friends. It wasn't glamorous, but it was safe. Routine. Until that day, the day the universe decided to take her definition of "routine" and flip it upside down.
It all started innocuously enough. Y/N was minding her own business, enjoying her usual post-work routine of scrolling through social media while sipping tea, when there was a knock at the door.
Odd, Y/N thought. She wasn't expecting anyone. Setting the mug down, she walked toward the door, mentally running through a list of possible visitors, neighbours, delivery people, maybe even that friend who sometimes dropped by unannounced. But when Y/N opened the door, none of those scenarios could have prepared her for what she saw.
There, leaning casually against the doorframe, was Park Jimin. Not just any Park Jimin, the Park Jimin. The most infamous villain in the world. The man who was plastered across every news channel and wanted in at least 67 countries. He was the mastermind behind a string of global disasters, someone who could make even the bravest superheroes break into a cold sweat.
And there he was, standing on Y/N's doorstep.
"Hi there," Jimin said with a smile that could melt glaciers but somehow sent a shiver down Y/N's spine. He was dressed immaculately, as always, in a sleek black suit that seemed far too formal for a Wednesday evening. His eyes sparkled with a mischievous glint, like he was in on some grand joke that Y/N wasn't privy to.
Y/N blinked, unsure of whether she should scream, slam the door, or faint. Instead, she opted for, "Um, can I help you?"
Jimin tilted his head slightly, his smile widening. "You could say that. I've been thinking about it, and after much deliberation, I've decided we should get married."
"...What?"
"Married. You and me." Jimin's voice was calm, as if he hadn't just suggested the most ridiculous thing Y/N had ever heard. "You're perfect, Y/N. Smart, kind, stubborn enough to make things interesting, and honestly, I'm tired of searching for the one. So, I decided it's you."
Y/N stood there, frozen, her mind reeling. Park Jimin, the same Park Jimin who had nearly triggered World War III last month, was proposing marriage. It felt like a prank, or maybe she had fallen into some kind of alternate reality.
"I... don't even know you," Y/N finally managed to say, once her brain started working again.
Jimin sighed, pushing himself off the doorframe and stepping inside as though he had been invited. He casually surveyed Y/N's living room, taking in the modest decor with a nod of approval. "That's not entirely true. I know plenty about you. I've been watching you for a while."
"Stalker vibes. Great."
"Not stalking. More like... strategic observation. I like to be thorough." Jimin turned back to Y/N, his expression softening ever so slightly. "Look, I know this is a lot to take in. But think about it: you get to marry me, the most powerful man in the world, someone who can give you anything you've ever dreamed of. And in return, I get someone who can ground me a little. Keep me sane in this... chaotic world."
Y/N raised an eyebrow. "You, kept sane? You blow up buildings for fun."
"Well," Jimin smiled again, this time a little sheepishly, "I can be a bit over the top sometimes."
A bit. Right.
"I'm not sure threatening to destroy cities is a solid foundation for marriage," Y/N said, crossing her arms.
Jimin took a step closer, his expression surprisingly sincere for someone who'd just casually proposed while wearing an entire catalog of red flags. "I'm serious, Y/N. I'm not asking. I'm telling you. You're going to marry me, and we'll make it work. Or else... well, let's just say you wouldn't want to see what happens if you refuse."
There it was, the thinly veiled threat. Y/N swallowed. She was well aware of what Jimin was capable of. The man didn't make idle threats. He'd leveled entire countries, toppled governments, and brought the global economy to its knees. Y/N's apartment building wouldn't even be a challenge.
The realization sank in slowly. She didn't have a choice.
"Fine," Y/N said, voice barely above a whisper.
Jimin's smile was bright enough to rival the sun. "I knew you'd come around! Great decision, really. I'll have my team send over the paperwork. We'll keep it small, intimate. I'll take care of everything."
Before Y/N could fully comprehend what she'd just agreed to, Jimin was already heading toward the door, tossing a casual "See you soon, future wife" over his shoulder before disappearing into the night.
Y/N stood there, staring at the empty doorway, heart pounding. What the hell had she just gotten herself into?
