Becareful, Basgiath is not just a military college but a fucking boxing school.
by Victor Melgren
Augustina POV
The next morning we made our way to the gathering hall to announce the deathrolls. I kept yawning during the whole hour until it was over. I'm not a morning person, I'm more of a night owl. Yunjin and Jake have been very lovey dovey since this morning. They must've did something last night, knowing that Yunjin came late past curfew. We made our way to Violet and Rhiannon. After what seems like just a few minutes, a woman with short purple hair walks in the centre of the classroom.
"This must be the infamous, Professor Devera." Yunjin whispers from beside me on my left. I hummed in response. Normally I would answer yes but I'm too tired to open my mouth.
"Welcome to your first Battle Brief." Professor Devera says. The desks were filled with a lot of students. Looking behind me I see the senior third years standing and leaning against the wall. Professor Devera then explained our duty if we were ever called out to fight. I looked beside her and saw Professor Markham, a scribe. He drops met Violets gaze and then shook his head in disappointment. 'Must be nice to record battles than having to fight a battle'. I rolled my eyes at the thought.
"The Eastern Wing experienced an attack last night near the village of Chakvir by a drift of Braevi gryphons and riders." She continued, giving us an assignment to ask some questions only for us first years. Everything went according to the scene in the story. But I had to keep my head down just so Professor Devera would only focus on Violet.
"Maybe you should ask your own questions from here on out, Cadet Sorrengail" I looked at Violet on my right and looked at the map. Everyone started murmuring. Violet went on with her questions and I just stood still and kept staring at the map.
"Yeah, because that makes sense." I looked infront and saw the guy turn around. I frowned at him. "General Melgren knows the outcome of a battle before it happens, but even he doesn't know when it will happen, dumbass." He looks at me, smiling.
"And despite not knowing he is still the highest general, Cadet Butthole." I said with a smirk, I heard giggling as Jacks smile fades and faces the front.
"There's no logic in thinking that they would get there within an hour of the attack unless they were already on their way. A riders dragon must have sensed a ward falling or they somehow knew that they faltered, dumbass." Violet continues.
"That's the most-" Jack gets cut off by Professor Devera.
"That's right." Professor Devera nods. "One of the dragons in the wing sensed the faltering ward, and the wing flew. Had they not, the casualties would have been far higher and the destruction of the villiage would've been far worse." She continues.
"Second and third years, take over," Professor Devera orders. "Lets see if you can be a little respectful to you fellow cadets." She arches a brow at Jack. The riders behind us were so loud with their questions, I felt dizzy.
"What was the condition of the village?" Everone turned their head, while I was more focused on looking infront. I sighed. "Riorson?" Markham asks.
"The village." Xaden restates. "Professor Devera said the damage would've been worse , but what was the actual condition? Was it burned? Destroyed? They would'nt demolish it if they were trying to establish a foothold, so the condition of the village matters when trying to determine a motive for an attack." Professor Devera smiles in approval. "The buildings they'd already gone through were burned, and the rest were being looted when the wing arrived." Professor Devera says.
