Taehyung walked into the large halls of the royal palace. He was called by his father to discuss an important matter.
It wasn't unusual but something about this felt a bit different today. He didn't know why his father called him but he could sense that it must be something important.
His thoughts came to an end when he reached the large doors. He stepped inside and saw his father sitting on his throne, looking serious.
Taehyung bowed before asking, "Father, you called for me?"
The king nodded, "Yes. There is something important I need you to do."
"What is it?" Taehyung said as he stepped forward in curiosity.
The king stood up from his throne and walked towards Taehyung, "You must leave for the kingdom of Aldura. There's a situation involving the noble family, and I need you to handle it."
Taehyung stood quiet for a moment before nodding... "For how long?" he asked.
"One month," the king replied, "The situation there is sensitive and I trust you to represent our kingdom. The tension between Aldura and our kingdom is rising and we must strengthen our ties before taking any risk."
A sense of responsibility weighed heavily on Taehyung's shoulders. He had done these works before but it felt different this time.
"I understand," he said, though a part of him didn't want to leave, "I'll do what you ask."
He was a prince, and for him, his duties came before his personal desires.
"I'll prepare to leave right away," he said, bowing down.
The king gave him a nod, "Good. You'll be leaving tomorrow morning. The soldiers and horses are already prepared for your journey.
Taehyung nodded and bowed once again to leave from there. His thoughts raced, a month away from this palace was going to be difficult for him.
His thoughts went back to Jungkook; he was definitely going through something that Taehyung couldn't figure out yet, and now he wouldn't be here for him.
The thought alone made Taehyung not leave the palace, but as usual, his duties that came as the prince came before anything; that's what he thought.
With Namjoon
Namjoon was sitting by the large window. He leaned back on the chair, his mind surrounded by many thoughts. Jin entered the room, carrying a bottle of wine and a glass.
"You've been so quiet lately," Jin said, as he sat beside him, "Something's on your mind?"
Namjoon sighed deeply, "It's Jungkook, he's changing a lot these days."
"Changing how?" Jin raised an eyebrow.
Namjoon turned to face him, his expression serious, "I don't know how to say it, but he is changing a lot. He used to be so cold and distant from all the humans, but now? I don't know if this is for good or not but it scares me."
"Namjoon, he lived alone for years. Never let anyone approach him, always cold towards everyone but now he's changing, you say. So, isn't this a good thing, even if this includes humans," Jin said as he poured some wine in a glass.
Namjoon sighed, "I don't have any problem with him being involved with humans but... what about his past?"
"What if the same thing repeats? His past broke his in ways he'd never admit but what if the same happens again? How will he handle himself when he's still not over his past yet," Namjoon said being concerned.
