Jungkook sat in his room. The room was dimly lit. His eyes were closed as he leaned back on the chair and tried to rest.

He could feel someone's presence, someone whom he trusted completely. The face wasn't clear but the voice that echoed was enough for Jungkook to recognize it.

"Hyung, I will protect you," his own voice called out. The voice filled with innocence and trust.

"I can protect myself, kook. You should take care of yourself," the other voice said lovingly. Jungkook could still recognize the owner of this voice. It's been years but the memories were still fresh.

Soon, the whole scene changed and the other person's loving smile changed into a sinister one.

"Hyung, how can you do this?" Jungkook's voice trembled with pain.

The other person smirked, "This was planned from the very start, Jungkook."

The words echoed in Jungkook's ears. His eyes filled with tears. "Was it all a lie?" he said, his voice barely audible.

"It was supposed to be like this," the other person said and walked close to Jungkook.

Jungkook woke up with a jolt. His breathing was uneven. His eyes scanned the room to search for someone who wasn't there. His mind raced with thoughts, thoughts of someone whom he can never forget.

The room fell silent and suddenly Jungkook heard the sound of heels clicking against the floor.

Jungkook turned his face towards the door of the room and saw Jury standing there. She didn't waited for an invitation and stepped in the room.

Jungkook's gaze followed her, his expressions unreadable, "You shouldn't be here at this hour."

Jury's lips curved into a smirk as she walked closer, "Since when did time matter to us? I thought vampires like us lived beyond the rules of humans."

Jungkook remained silent for a moment, "Why are you here, Jury?" he said and stood up from the chair.

"I have heard things, more like rumors, that Jeon Jungkook is distracted. Something or someone is distracting his mind," she whispered in the last part.

Jungkook's expressions darkened, "Jury, know your limits. It's dangerous to speak your mind with me," Jungkook said, his voice low.

Jury smirked and walked closer until she was just inches apart from Jungkook, "Danger is what makes life interesting."

"You are playing a game you can't win," he said, holding eye contact with Jury.

"We'll see," Jury said with a smirk and walked towards the door, Jungkook's eyes still fixed on her. The sound of heels clicking slowly fading away.

Jungkook sat back on the chair. His mind filled with thoughts. Is he getting distracted? But by whom? He took a big sigh and again leaned back to take a rest.

The next day

The next morning, Taehyung woke up because of the soft light that was coming through the curtains. He got up from the bed and stared at the large mirror.

He quickly got dressed and walked out of the room. As he walked out, a servant approached him, "Good morning, Your Highness," The servant said, bowing down.
