We sprint down the street like fugitives with a death sentence. Behind us, Bakugo is a living firestorm of explosions and anger.
"YOU CAN'T RUN FOREVER!" Bakugo screams, every word punctuated by an explosion.
"Not with that attitude!" Tsuki shouts back, somehow running faster while waving like a lunatic.
"TSUKI, DO NOT ENCOURAGE HIM!" I yell, nearly tripping over a rogue soda can.
We dodge through side streets, leap over benches, and narrowly avoid the clutches of Cementoss, who waves a tired hand as we zoom past. Tsuki somehow manages to stay just a step ahead, grinning like a madman.
"How are you this fast?" I pant.
Tsuki shrugs mid-sprint. "Energy drinks and spite."
"That checks out."
Up ahead, I spot a familiar figure turning the corner: Iida, running toward us with his arms pumping, his eyes wide in concern.
"Tokoyami, what's going on?!" he calls, clearly prepared to jump into some heroic nonsense.
Before I can warn him, Tsuki yells, "Tag, you're it!" and slaps Iida on the shoulder.
Iida freezes. "What?"
Then Bakugo rounds the corner with a deafening BOOM!
Without hesitation, Iida turns and sprints in the opposite direction, shouting, "RETREAT! RETREAT!"
"Smart guy," Tsuki says approvingly as we keep running.
"THIS IS GOING TO END IN DEATH," I growl, struggling to keep up.
Tsuki flashes me an innocent grin. "Maybe yours. Probably mine. But what a way to go."
We turn another corner and spot a small alleyway. Tsuki yanks me toward it, and we duck into the shadows just in time to avoid Bakugo's latest barrage of explosions.
He stomps past, muttering curses so colorful they could be used to paint a mural.
"Think he'll give up soon?" I whisper.
"Not a chance," Tsuki replies with a grin. "But that's half the fun."
We stay hidden for a moment, catching our breath. Dark Shadow floats beside us, still giggling like a mischievous ghost.
"You're insane," I mutter to Tsuki.
"I prefer the term 'creatively unpredictable,'" he says smugly.
Before I can respond, we hear footsteps. Not Bakugo's this time—someone lighter, more graceful.
Out of the shadows steps Aizawa-sensei, his expression unreadable but radiating that particular brand of tired teacher energy.
Tsuki immediately straightens up. "Oh no, we've been found by The Nap King himself."
Aizawa's eyes narrow. "How... is this still happening?"
"Listen, Mr. Eraser," Tsuki says, adopting his most innocent face. "Everything's under control."
"It's not," I mutter.
Aizawa sighs. "Bakugo's looking for you. And now I'm officially done."
With a quick flick of his scarf, Aizawa yanks Tsuki into the air like a particularly troublesome kitten.
Tsuki flails but doesn't stop grinning. "Hey, this is actually kind of fun."
"Stop enjoying this," I hiss at him.
Aizawa turns his exhausted gaze to me. "Take your brother, Tokoyami. And get out of my sight before Bakugo levels half the campus."
"Gladly," I mutter.
He drops Tsuki into my arms like a sack of trouble, and Tsuki immediately kicks his feet. "Carry me, bird-boy!"
"I will drop you," I warn.
Tsuki just cackles, completely unfazed. "You love me."
Before we can escape, Bakugo's voice echoes from the end of the alley:
"FOUND YOU!"Aizawa groans, rubbing his temples. "I hate this job."
Bakugo lunges toward us, and without missing a beat, Aizawa's scarf shoots out, wrapping around Bakugo like a snake. He drags him to the ground with the skill of a tired dad wrestling a hyper toddler.
"You're done," Aizawa mutters, glaring at Bakugo.
"LET ME GO!" Bakugo roars. "I'M GONNA KILL THAT KID!"
"You'll get your chance tomorrow," Aizawa says dryly. "For now, detention."
Bakugo's eyes widen. "What? No way! Detention?!"
"Yes." Aizawa's tone leaves no room for argument.
Tsuki leans over, smirking. "Looks like you get a timeout, Boom Boy."
Bakugo's resulting scream could probably be heard from space.
With Bakugo contained (for now), I haul Tsuki out of the alley before anything else explodes. As we make our way toward the dorms, Tsuki grins up at me.
"So... ice cream round two?"
I stop walking and stare down at him.
"No."Tsuki just shrugs. "Suit yourself. But for the record?" He leans in close, whispering with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Totally worth it."
And somehow, against my better judgment, I find myself laughing.
Because no matter how much chaos Tsuki causes... he's still my little brother. And honestly? Life would be boring without him.
