Everything is quiet—too quiet.
I should've known something was wrong the second Tsuki voluntarily sat next to me, looking suspiciously well-behaved. That's not normal. Tsuki is never still unless he's planning something diabolical.
I glance over at him. He's got the expression of a kid with a handful of fireworks and a lighter in his pocket.
Dark Shadow whispers from my side. "I sense trouble, Tokoyami..."
No kidding, Sherlock.
The chaos detonates precisely two minutes into homeroom, just as Aizawa starts taking attendance.
And Tsuki, grinning like a little demon, raises his hand. "Excuse me, Mr. Aizawa!"
Aizawa sighs wearily. "This is not your class."
"I just have one thing to say!" Tsuki announces, standing up with the confidence of someone who doesn't know fear.
Oh no. Oh no, no, no—
"Tokoyami has a crush!" Tsuki declares loudly, pointing at me with both hands like he just found a new continent.
The classroom explodes with excitement. Laughter. Shouting. Kaminari practically falls out of his chair, Sero punches the air triumphantly, and Mina screeches like a pterodactyl.
"WHO IS IT?" she yells, eyes sparkling with curiosity. "WHO DOES BIRD BOY LIKE?"
"I DO NOT HAVE A CRUSH," I growl, my feathers fluffing up in mortification.
"Oh, come on," Tsuki says with a wicked grin. "You talk about her all the time at home. 'Ooooh, she's sooo graceful. She's sooo elegant. She's like the moon and I am but a humble—'"
"TSUKI!" I yell, absolutely horrified.
I can already feel my soul leaving my body as the classroom descends into utter chaos. Kaminari is on the floor, gasping for air. Mina is howling. Even Bakugo looks like he might die from laughter.
Why is this happening to me?
"Wait, wait," Mina manages to gasp between cackles. "WHO IS IT?!"
Tsuki pauses for dramatic effect, a little showman in every sense of the word.
"It's..." He looks around the room slowly, savoring the moment.
"...Momo!"
The entire class erupts. Sero throws a paper plane across the room. Kaminari nearly chokes on his water. Mina slaps my desk repeatedly, cackling like a hyena.
"YAOYOROZU?!" Kaminari shrieks.
"HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN A THING?" Mina howls, banging her hands on the table like a judge delivering a sentence.
Dark Shadow, ever the traitor, snickers beside me. "You do talk about her a lot."
"I DO NOT," I hiss, desperately wishing for the ground to swallow me whole.
At the front of the room, Aizawa pinches the bridge of his nose. "I am so tired," he mutters to no one in particular.
And then—as if this wasn't bad enough—the classroom door swings open.
Momo Yaoyorozu walks in.
Oh no.
Momo freezes, taking in the scene—the howling laughter, the chaos, my very fluffed-up feathers. She looks slightly confused but remains as elegant as ever.
"Did I... miss something?" she asks politely, glancing between me and the absolute disaster my brother just unleashed.
Everyone loses their collective minds.
"Tokoyami, just tell her already!" Kaminari wheezes, doubled over.
"Ask her out!" Mina hollers.
"Confess your love, birdbrain!" Sero adds, cackling.
Tsuki—that little gremlin—grins smugly from his seat, reveling in my humiliation.
Momo blinks, clearly trying to process what's happening. "I'm... sorry? What's going on?"
I stare straight ahead, praying for divine intervention. Please, let lightning strike me down right now.
Instead, all I can do is muster the most awkward, mortified sentence of my life.
"It's... nothing. Please ignore everything."
Momo gives me a small, graceful smile—completely unbothered, like the goddess she is—and sits down.
"Very well."
Tsuki leans over, whispering gleefully. "I think she likes you, bro."
I turn slowly to face him. "You... are dead to me."
He grins. "You love me."
"I hate you."
"You love me so much."
Aizawa claps his hands to regain control of the room. "Alright, everyone. Settle down."
The class eventually quiets down, though not without a few more giggles and side-eyes in my direction. Mina makes heart gestures at me for the next ten minutes.
And through it all, Tsuki sits beside me, grinning like the smug little demon he is.
This kid is going to be the death of me.
At lunch, Tsuki escalates things further.
We're sitting in the cafeteria when Tsuki decides—out of nowhere—that it's time for "family bonding."
"Hey, Momo!" he calls out across the room, waving his arms wildly.
Oh no. Please, no.
Momo glances up from her table, graceful as ever. "Yes?"
"Did you know Tokoyami keeps a poetry journal about you?" Tsuki says with a completely innocent smile.
I choke on my food. "TSUKI!"
Momo looks mildly surprised. "A poetry journal?"
"There is no journal!" I say, horrified beyond measure.
Tsuki leans in, whispering conspiratorially to Momo. "He wrote one where he called you 'a constellation among mortals.' Isn't that romantic?"
Momo blinks, processing this new information. "That's... very sweet."
I bury my face in my hands, wishing desperately for the earth to swallow me whole.
By the time the day ends, I am a hollow shell of a person. Tsuki has successfully embarrassed me in every conceivable way, and he's still riding high on the thrill of chaos.
As we walk toward the gates, Tsuki gives me one last grin. "Today was awesome."
"For you, maybe," I mutter.
"You'll thank me one day," he says, beaming like a proud gremlin. "I'm just helping you live your best life."
"I am living my worst life," I reply flatly.
Dark Shadow chuckles. "He's not entirely wrong."
I glare at both of them. "You're all dead to me."
Tsuki just laughs, completely unbothered. "See you tomorrow, brother."
And with that, the little menace skips off down the street, leaving me to wallow in the wreckage of my dignity.
