Peace... at What Cost?

With Tsuki finally gone, I step back inside the dorm building, bracing for whatever's left of my dignity. The common room is still a mess of scattered snacks and collapsed pillows. Most of Class 1-A is lounging around, looking thoroughly entertained.

Mina waves lazily from the couch. "Yo, Void Burrito. How's it feel to finally be free?"

"I feel like I just survived a natural disaster," I mutter, slumping into a chair.

Dark Shadow snickers. "More like an unnatural disaster."

Iida adjusts his glasses with a solemn expression. "Your brother is... truly remarkable."

"He's something, all right," I sigh, rubbing my temples.

Sero chuckles. "I can't believe he roasted Bakugo and lived. The kid's fearless."

"Or reckless," I grumble. "It's a fine line."

Just as I think I might get a moment of rest, the door slides open again, and in walks Hawks—looking as casual as ever, hands stuffed into his jacket pockets, a relaxed grin on his face.

"Well, I dropped the little gremlin off at home," Hawks says with a wink. "He's all your parents' problem now."

The entire room perks up at the sight of him. Kirishima elbows me with a grin. "Dude, you didn't tell us Hawks was part of the package! How does that work?"

I give a tired shrug. "Hawks... helps out sometimes. Unfortunately."

Hawks chuckles. "Yeah, babysitting Tsuki's not exactly a high-ranking hero mission, but someone's gotta do it..... And, you know..." He nudges me with his elbow. "Anything for my favorite gloomy apprentice plus his brother sure also keeps a high ranking hero on toes... no doubt there."

Mina gasps dramatically. "Wait. Hawks babysits for you?"

"More like damage control," I mutter.

Hawks plops down on the arm of my chair, grinning like he's the world's greatest big brother.
"Whenever your parents need a break from Tsuki—and, honestly, who wouldn't—I step in. I figured I'd be good at it. Y'know, keep the kid out of trouble. Give him some structure."

I raise a skeptical eyebrow. "How's that working out?"

Hawks laughs. "Not great, if I'm being honest. Tsuki's a lot... even for me."

Dark Shadow leans in conspiratorially. "He drove Hawks crazy too?"

Hawks grins. "Oh yeah. Last week he duct-taped my wings together while I was sitting on a chair... Took me three hours to get loose."

The room erupts into laughter. Even I crack a reluctant smile.

"Honestly," Hawks continues, "Tsuki's like a mini tornado with no off switch. But..." He gives me a knowing look. "He's not all bad, right?"

I sigh, but there's no real frustration behind it. "Yeah... He's not all bad."

"He really looks up to you, y'know," Hawks says quietly. "The chaos? That's his way of getting your attention."

I glance down at the floor, feeling a small knot of guilt untangle in my chest. "Yeah... I know."

Hawks gives me a friendly clap on the back. "Well, I'll give you credit, kid. You've survived Tsuki's antics longer than most. If he grows up to be even half as cool as you, the world's in for a treat."

The compliment catches me off-guard, and I stare at Hawks, wondering if he's being serious for once.

"Thanks," I mutter, a little awkwardly. "I guess."

Mina leans over to Hawks with a mischievous grin. "Sooo... do you do babysitting for other heroes, or just Tokoyami?"

Hawks smirks. "Depends. You got a little brother who's part goblin, part hurricane?"

"No, but Bakugo's kinda close," Kirishima jokes.

Bakugo's distant shout echoes down the hallway.
"I HEARD THAT!"

The room explodes with laughter again, and for the first time today, I feel a strange sense of peace. Sure, my brother's a tiny menace. Sure, he humiliated me in front of my entire class. But somehow, amidst all the chaos, it feels... manageable. Like maybe this is just what family is—messy, unpredictable, but not without its moments of weird joy.

Hawks ruffles my hair. "Well, I'm out. If Tsuki tries to sneak back, though... you're on your own."

I shoot him a look. "Thanks. Real helpful."

"Anytime, kid." Hawks gives a lazy salute and heads for the door, pausing to throw a cheeky grin over his shoulder. "And hey—next time Tsuki comes to visit, maybe warn your classmates first?"

Mina snorts. "Nah, where's the fun in that?"

As Hawks disappears down the hall, I sink deeper into my chair, finally allowing myself to relax.

"Tsuki's coming back, isn't he?" Dark Shadow asks quietly.

"Oh, absolutely," I reply with a tired chuckle. "Probably tomorrow."

The thought should fill me with dread—but instead, it makes me laugh.

Because, in the end, I know one thing for sure. Life with Tsuki will never, ever be boring.
