We're halfway down the hall when we hear it: BOOM!
The unmistakable sound of Bakugo finally blasting his way out of the closet. The door slams open with a bang, and from the darkness emerges an unholy sight. Bakugo's hair is even more spiky than usual, his uniform is covered in soot, and his face looks like he's one explosion away from becoming a supernova.
"YOU TWO ARE DEAD." His voice is low—the kind of growl that makes you think about writing your will.
Tsuki, the fearless menace that he is, only waves cheerfully.
"Hey, you're back! Nice nap?"Bakugo's eye twitches so hard I think I hear it creak. "I'M GONNA TURN BOTH OF YOU TO ASHES!"
"Time to go!" Tsuki chirps, grabbing my arm and yanking me into motion just as Bakugo charges toward us, explosions already popping from his hands.
We sprint down the hallway, weaving through students and faculty who are doing their best to stay far, far away from the impending disaster.
"Why is this happening?!" I shout as we round a corner.
Tsuki grins back at me. "Because chaos, my dear Tokoyami. Chaos."
"YOU LITTLE DEMON, I'LL SHOW YOU CHAOS!" Bakugo's voice echoes down the hall like a war drum.
Tsuki decides to up the ante. He yanks open a classroom door at random—and who do we stumble upon? Shoto Todoroki, sitting quietly with a book, looking like he was hoping the world would leave him alone today.
"Hi, Sho!" Tsuki says cheerfully. "We're playing tag with Bakugo. Wanna help?"
Todoroki blinks, looking between us and the approaching fireball that is Bakugo. His mismatched eyes flicker with what I can only describe as mild resignation.
"I'd rather not," he says flatly, turning back to his book.
Tsuki shrugs. "Fair enough. Bye, Sho!" And just like that, we're back in the hall, leaving Todoroki to his fate.
We turn another corner just as Bakugo detonates behind us, sending a shockwave that rattles the windows. Tsuki laughs like this is the best day of his life.
"Hey, Kacchan!" Tsuki shouts over his shoulder. "You should try meditation! Or a nap. You seem stressed."
"I'LL SHOW YOU STRESSED!" Bakugo screams, releasing another explosion that sends us flying down the hall.
I'm about three seconds away from total despair when salvation appears in the form of Aizawa-sensei, standing dead center in the hallway, looking more exhausted than usual.
He doesn't say a word—just activates his Quirk, Erasure, the moment Bakugo rounds the corner. Bakugo's explosions sputter out like a firework in the rain.
"Enough," Aizawa says, voice low and absolutely done.
"HE STARTED IT!" Bakugo yells, pointing at Tsuki like a man possessed. "THAT LITTLE GREMLIN—"
"Don't care," Aizawa interrupts. "I want peace. Now."
Tsuki—completely unbothered—flashes his best angelic smile.
"Don't worry, Mr. Eraserhead! I'm done causing trouble. For now."Aizawa raises an eyebrow, clearly not convinced.
"I highly doubt that."Bakugo growls, fists clenched, but with his Quirk deactivated, he can't do much except glare at us.
"This isn't over," he mutters darkly.Tsuki blows him a kiss. "See you at dinner, Boom Boy!"
I drag a hand down my face.
"Tsuki, please."As Aizawa shoos Bakugo off to cool down, Tsuki skips beside me, humming a tune.
"You know," I say, glaring down at him, "I think you just became Bakugo's number one enemy."
Tsuki beams. "Aw, thanks, bro! That means a lot."
"That was not a compliment."
Dark Shadow, who's been unusually quiet, finally speaks up. "I like him," it says cheerfully. "He brings... energy."
"Do not encourage him," I warn.
Tsuki winks at Dark Shadow. "See? The bird likes me."
"I don't," I grumble, fully aware that I'm lying through my teeth.
The hallway finally quiets down as the chaos settles. For a moment, we just walk in relative peace—until Tsuki glances up at me with a mischievous twinkle in his eye.
"So, what's next, big bro?" he asks innocently. "Any fun plans for the afternoon?"
"No," I say firmly. "Absolutely not. No more fun. No more chaos. No more—"
"Chirp?"
I freeze.
"Tsuki.""C'mon." He grins up at me, all mischief and charm. "Just one more chirp?"
"No."
"Double-dog dare?"
I stop walking, close my eyes, and take a deep breath.
This kid is going to destroy me.But as much as I hate to admit it... I chirp.
Tsuki laughs so hard he nearly falls over, and even Dark Shadow is gasping for breath.
And somehow, against all odds, I find myself smiling, too.
Because at the end of the day—no matter how much of a pain Tsuki is—he's my little brother. And I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world.
Well... maybe for a nap.
Tsuki looks up at me, grinning like the menace he is.
"So, ice cream?""Yeah," I mutter. "Ice cream sounds good."
