The second the school bell rang, Lily Mei bolted from her seat and dashed toward the front gate, her heart racing with anticipation. The entire day had dragged on painfully slow, each minute feeling like an hour. But now, it was finally over. She was free and, more importantly, she was going to see Adrian.

As promised, he was already waiting by the gate. Dressed in a sleek black button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up just enough to reveal his strong forearms, Adrian stood out effortlessly among the crowd of parents and chauffeurs that occasionally steal a glance at him. His sharp features softened the moment he saw her, a hint of a rare smile pulling at the corners of his mouth.

"Adrian!" Lily called, her voice high with excitement. She ran to him without hesitation, her schoolbag bouncing behind her as she flung herself into his waiting arms.

Adrian caught her with ease, lifting her off the ground like she weighed nothing. "There's my baby," he murmured, brushing his lips against her temple in greeting. "Did you have a good day?"

Lily scowled, wrapping her arms around his neck. "No. It was boring, just like I said it would be."

Adrian chuckled softly, carrying her to his sleek black car parked nearby. "Well, you survived. And now it's time for the fun part. Ready to go shopping?"

Lily's pout vanished instantly, replaced with a wide grin. "Yes!"

He opened the car door and gently placed her inside. Once she was settled, he made sure to put her seatbelt on. He leaned down, brushing her long bangs out of her eyes. "Anything you want today, baby. I'll spoil you rotten."

Lily giggled, her heart fluttering at the sound of his voice. "You always do."

Adrian's gaze lingered on her for a second longer before he closed the door and rounded the car.

They arrived at the most luxurious mall in the city, a sprawling complex filled with high-end boutiques, designer stores, and elegant cafes. The moment they stepped inside, Lily tugged at Adrian's hand, her brown eyes sparkling.

"Let's start at the dress shop!" she declared, already leading the way.

Adrian followed with a quiet smile, his large hand engulfing hers. He didn't mind where they went. As long as she was happy, he was happy.

The sales attendants greeted them warmly the moment they entered, recognizing Adrian immediately. His presence was impossible to ignore—tall, dark, and commanding. But it was the way he doted on the petite girl beside him that caught everyone's attention.

Lily darted between racks of dresses, holding up different styles to show him. "What about this one? Or this? Is this cute?"

Adrian leaned against a nearby wall, arms crossed, watching her with amusement. "They're all cute, baby. But try them on for me. I want to see."

She grinned and skipped off to the fitting room, emerging a few minutes later in a pink chiffon dress that matched her perfectly.

"What do you think?" she asked, twirling in front of him. The skirt flared out as she spun, and her cheeks flushed with excitement.

Adrian's heart gave a familiar, helpless tug. "You look beautiful," he said softly. "Like a little princess."

Lily beamed at the praise, turning to the mirror to admire herself. "I'll take it!"

Store after store, Adrian carried bag after bag without complaint, following her every whim. Whenever she grew tired or cranky, he would scoop her up effortlessly and carry her for a bit, whispering soothing words in her ear until she calmed down.

"Adrian, I'm hungry," she announced after a while, leaning into his side as they walked.

He pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "Then let's find you something to eat, baby."

They ended up at a quiet little café tucked away on the top floor. Adrian ordered her favorite strawberry shortcake and a glass of iced tea, sitting across from her as she dug into the dessert with enthusiasm.

He rested his chin on his hand, watching her with quiet adoration. "Having fun?"

Lily nodded, her cheeks puffed with cake. "Mmhmm!"

Adrian chuckled, reaching out to wipe a bit of frosting from the corner of her mouth with his thumb. "Good."

As she finished her cake, Lily glanced at the mountain of shopping bags surrounding them, her heart swelling with a strange warmth. She knew she could be difficult, spoiled, and demanding, but Adrian never seemed to mind. If anything, he indulged her every whim with unwavering patience and affection.

"You're the best," she mumbled softly, almost shyly, as she stirred her tea with a little spoon.

Adrian leaned closer, his dark eyes warm and affectionate. "And you're my baby. That's never going to change."

Lily felt her cheeks heat. She simply smiled. Soft and content. Because with Adrian, she always felt like the most important person in the world.

After finishing their little café break, they spent a bit more time wandering through the mall, Adrian carrying her bags and letting her drag him into whatever store caught her fancy.

When they finally returned to the car, the sun was starting to set, casting a golden glow over the city. Adrian opened the door for her, helping her inside before loading the mountain of bags into the trunk.

As they drove home, Lily leaned her head against the window, feeling pleasantly tired.

"Adrian?" she murmured sleepily.

"Yes, baby?"

She glanced over at him, her voice soft. "Thank you... for today. I had fun."

Adrian's heart swelled, and he reached over to gently squeeze her hand. "Anything for you, baby. Always."

Lily's eyes fluttered closed, a small, content smile on her lips as the hum of the car lulled her to sleep.

And as Adrian drove through the quiet streets, a feeling settled deep in his chest—a feeling he had known for years now.

No matter what, no matter how spoiled or difficult she could be. There was nothing in the world he wouldn't do to make her happy.
