It is one of four species of pangolins which can be found in Africa, and the only one in southern and eastern Africa.
Diet. The ground pangolin is wholly myrmecophagous, meaning that they only feed on ants and termites. In fact, they demonstrate prey selectivity, only eating specific ant and termite species rather than foraging on the most abundant species.
"They look like dragons but they're completely nonaggressive and when they get to know you they're very friendly. They're very shy. They're like small children. So they don't warm up to you right away but once they know you, they bond."
Pangolins are preyed upon by many of the top predators in their habitats, such as lions and leopards, as well as other carnivores, like hyenas, and have interesting defense behaviors when targeted by their predator
