Just as me and Kai were about to leave the garden, Allen barged into the room and pointed a knife at Kai.
"You can't just marry her, you dumb son of a bitch! You don't even know her!" Allen yelled, grabbing my hand and dragging me behind him.
"Allen! Drop the damn knife!" I exclaimed, getting in front of him and holding the wrist of the hand that was clutching the knife. He looked at me and his eyes softened.
He let his hand loose and the knife clanged to the ground. I sighed and held my chest with relief.
"How the hell'd you even figure out where this place is? How'd you get past the guard wolves?" I asked him frantically.
"Shh, Soph. I'll explain everything when we get home, okay?" Allen said, holding my wrists.
I looked at him and shook my head, going back to Kai's side. "As much as you care about me, and I know you do, you can't just barge in here and take me away. It doesn't work like that here."
Allen scoffed. "What, I gotta take permission from Fancy Pants here?"
Allen pointed to Kai briefly with his hand and sighed. Kai kept a stoic expression and stayed silent.
"Yes. You have to." I told him. Kai looked down at me briefly before sighing and holding my hand, gently pushing me towards Allen.
"Bring her back by 7. No later than that." Kai said before looking around and then giving my hand a gentle kiss. For show, of course.
I gave him a tiny smile and went with my friend. Brother, I should say, since he's so protective.
When we get to his black Mercedes, he opens the door for me to get in. I sit down and look at him as he sits inside too.
"Okay, you left your location on, that's how I knew where you were. And, I broke in through the back door, where there were absolutely no guards." He explained as soon as he got in.
"You illegally broke into a house? My husband's house?" I said, looking at him with disbelief.
"Hey, y'all have only been 'mated' for a few minutes. Technically, he's not your husband until after your first night together." He smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Allen Thorn Black, watch your mouth." I playfully warned him.
He laughed and then drove out of the driveway.
At least I still had him.
