Sophia's POV:
"Kai!" I gasped and ran to my fiance, helping him by placing his arm around my shoulder.
He groaned and held the arrow. Then, with one swift tug, he pulled the arrow out of his own stomach. Blood gushed out and splattered on the floor. He clutched the wound, putting pressure on it to stop the bleeding. His usually neatly styled hair was disheveled and sticking out in 10 different directions.
I winced and looked away. "God, Kai, don't do that."
"Don't tell me what to do." he said bitterly, "I don't need you looking after me. That's a problem I'll have to withstand after the mating ceremony is complete."
I immediately let him walk on his own, removing his arm from my shoulder. He went to the end of the living room and turned a left into the hallway. That was where the medics' offices were.
I sighed and picked up the bloodied arrow he'd cast onto the floor. I clutched it in my hand and walked back upstairs to my room. I was better off in there anyway until the ceremony.
Or.... I could find Allen. But, Kai would notice that his precious Jeep was missing.
Payback. He is a total asshole, so, why not?
I quickly changed out my sweatpants and t shirt, and into something more.... I don't know, for going outside?
A pair of black combat boots, off-shoulder top, and cargo pants to go with it.
Of course, I had to take Kai's Jeep. We'll deal with the "consequences" later.
I quickly put Allen's house adress on the car's built - in GPS and drove at at least 105 km/h.
I reached fairly quickly, considering the pack house was in the woods, and Allen lived near the edge of the city.
I got out without even putting the car into the driveway properly and hurried up to the door.
I rang the bell twice and stepped back, waiting for him to open the door.
Luckily, he did. But, he was a mess. His eyes were puffy and his hair was a mess. When he saw me though, his eyes lit up.
"Sophia!" he exclaimed and immediately hugged me, "Where the hell did you go? I called the police and they were looking for you everywhere. We gave up after they couldn't find you. I thought you were dead."
I heard him sniffle, and I felt tears on my shoulder. I hugged him back and cried, too.
Oh, how I missed my best friend."I'm sorry. I really am, it's just, a lot has happened since I went missing and I don't have much time before my...." I hesitated, "My "fiance" finds out that I'm missing."
Then word itself brought up bile into my throat. I never considered Kai my fiance, even though that's what I must refer to him as, since... well, that's what fits my situation.
Allen wiped his nose on his sleeve and looked at me weird. "What, did you get engaged to an animal in the woods?" he joked.
I looked at him. He looked at me. Then, his eyes widened.
"No." he whispered, clearly shocked. I closed my eyes and nodded.
"Yes."
"Fucking no, Sophia." he said, anger starting to build up in his eyes.
"Let me explain, Allen." I told him and ushered him inside the house.
We both sat down on his living room couch and I started to tell him everything.
"So, when I went for a walk, I got lost, right. I got hurt when I tripped over a root and I fell down some sort of tiny ledge and cut my side. Then, I was cornered by a wolf, who I told you was my friend Cory. Then, I passed out because of the blood loss, and I woke up in this room, with the guy who "saved" me. He forced me to get engaged to him in the wolf way, and we have a ceremony next month. Conclusion: Life sucks."
"Son of a bitch. I'm going to kill him." Allen said, rubbing his temples, "Damn, you gave me migraine."
I winced. "Sorry."
"Not a word, Sophia." he said, pointing his finger at me. I shut up as soon as he told me to, cause only God knows what happens when he gets mad.
"So, you're telling me werewolves are real?" He asked me, "You do realise that werewolves and vampires exist under the same mythology, right? That means that the damn mosquitoes exist, too."
Wait a second.
He's right.
Instead of rogues attacking the hunters, it could've also been vampires.
